I figured out how to do the clipping mask and alpha on this but still Like more information on mask techniques anyone got any good links to look at. I am specially interested in using a mask or something to give a soft edge around the subject.

You know where the center is clear but then as it moves out to the edges gets softer, a bit blurrier and fades into another color.

Well basically it would crash when I moved or selected anything on figure or try to use the menu but I think I got it solved, I been running program as admin and havent had a crash yet since so maybe that was the problem. Running it not as a admin.

I found this post while searching forums for something else I see a nice step by step in poser but to clearify say i want to make tears or water drops on the skin do i need to open the texture in a program like photoshop then basically paint say the tears on a new layer then make that layer black background and tears, fluid in white then go do my work in poser?

I will try that, I also tried running the program as admin and it didnt crash, so maybe that might be the problem too. As far as the use external binary morph targets that was another idea but wast real sure what that did or if it was needed to load in saved scenes or not so i have it checked for now.

And no i didnt keep my content when i reinstalled though about it but figured it would be best to reinstall everything from scratch.

But right now i really think when i run poser i have to run it as admin which makes the most sense for now since until it starts crashing again then i will look at a different reason. So the question I have now is what does the binary morph target thing affect and what will I lose by turning it off?

Okay then I did that right as far as saving it so my poser crashing saying not enough memory to load textures is not related to the way I saved my figures. It happens when I have 3 or more figures in the scene any ideas?

and yes I have my search set to deep

Actually that is the set I bought, just never really used them yet, it was always easier to use a premade background or something but now i want to try use the brushes to make a nice detailed color background to fit my scene, and the tutorial that came with is vague in some steps I dont understand and so far what I have tried by folowing that doesnt produce real detailed results :(

specially i dont understand when it ask me to duplicate a layer then change the layer color to black or white? any help with that

yeah i got it to work it does produce a very cartoonie type animation which i guess can be useful i guess in some way. but I think the best way is as you said render the movie as individual images or as I stated before as an avi file and then convert it to flv to use. Just bored today and was trying to get the poser to swf to work.

Not sure why it didnt work before I didnt do anything diffrent maybe its just buggie I guess. Although I would hope smithmicro or who ever they will be next year lol will make it a more useful feature there is a good use to bring in 3d animations into flash now day and be a smart idea for them to make a more reliable method to do this in future releases of poser anyways thanks for the responses.

well i know i could render the movie as an avi file then use flash video encoder to make it into an flv and import it in to flash but thats really not what im trying to do. Mainly in the tutorial i was looking at he made a swf movie from poser then opened up flash and imported it into flash and it put all the frames on the flash time line in sequential order so you could work with the animation in flash frame by frame. but like i stated when i render the movie as swf for some reason nothing shows up in my swf just a blank file :( so was wondering if this is perhaps a poser 7 thing cause i believe in the tutorial he as using poser 5

Well you can use the two sided square for various things I believe for example load a 2 sided square and apply a material to it such as brick or some other kind of texture to it really it depends on what your making. It seems its just not good for doing reflective surfaces.

yeah I know i was just playing around with them on and off to see what effects it does. I kinda like that fade to black effect on the mirror, my big concern was the streaks I was getting it was driving me nuts lol.

As far as the normals_forward should be the next option after toonid at least that where it is on my poser 7

hmmm still getting those streaky results, i did a render with one spot light but it seems impossible for light not to hit the one side square and cause those streaks does the one sided square shadows properties have to be turned off too?
