If you want a higher rez render let me know... I have a network of machines to help... makes it kinda nice. 1-Athlon 1.3 1-Athlon 900 1-PIII 866 1-PIII 800 1-Celeron 500 1-Celeron 450 Don't have use of them all the time, but they have Bryce Lightning installed and I can use them most nights to help with a render. Email me if you want me to render it for you. ipon70@hotmail.com

Thread: Depth of field...or how I got my images to look like viewmaster slides | Forum: Bryce
Image looks good to me.. I agree the DOF is a little tricky to get what you want and the lens radius doesn't seem to make much sense either.. I don't think it equats to the lens settings on FOV in anyway, which makes it hard because the numbers seem so random... .10 default????
Thread: Any bets on when the patch will be released???? | Forum: Bryce
I would love to see a patch even for just a couple of things, then keep working on the harder bigger things. How many of you would love to see an onscreen visual conformation of what has been rendered when using Network Rendering. Nothing major just a block representation of what sections are done, that would be cool.

Thread: Something to say about speed and Bryce | Forum: Bryce
Save your money... rendering speed does not improve with more memory :( I have ran extensive tests on this and after 256 megs..no difference. The only thing that makes a difference is number crunching power.. or Floating Point Calculations. So far the best for this is the AMD Thunderbird, if you are an Intel fan sorry, this is nothing against them, but I have ran it on many machines with all kinds of memory and CPU's including a 1.1, 1.3, Thunderbird and P4's at basically the same speeds. So don't expect a big improvement if anything adding memory. Hope that helps save you a little ;)
Thread: True Ambience/Global Illumination | Forum: Bryce
Man that term is defined in the manual, but if you look at page 194-196 they talk about the "global" things of Bryce.. The only one I can think that he might be refering to is the "global changes" (right middle column, page 194) It says "The component window in the center of the editor, called the Combination component, represents the final combined texture. Any changes you make to this final component are considered global changes since they affect the entire texture" Not being at home its hard for me to test things out and all I have is my manual and books here that I read..over and over and over..:) Hope that helps you some.

I just got my manual out.. I assume you are rendering it in the premium mode to get that effect to work??

Not sure what your settings are for the wall but you might try turning up the reflection of it, and making sure it has the option to except shadows from other objects. Maybe post the image for me to look at and that might help... Good luck
Thread: Found a glitch in Bryce 5? | Forum: Bryce
It wont let you render like we think of as a single frame, it wants to render as an animation, even though you are only "animating" a single frame it is still an animation if you are using network rendering.

Ok personally I like the other texture better... but I like the terrain look better now.. And I agree some soft light would be great.. Coming along nice.

Looks really nice to me.. not sure where the pixel look in the front left is comming from..but you may want to crank up the res on the render and then take it down from there in Photoshop, or Image Ready to get the lower res for the web. Looks good though.
Thread: My opinion on Bryce 5 | Forum: Bryce
I have Bryce 5 and its running on a 966 PIII with 512 megs and haven't had any problems at all, except sometimes on lauch.. I get an .exe error... reboot and runs fine, but that only seems to happen when I launch Bryce work for awhile close it...reopen it, close it and then reopen it again... 3 times with no reboot seems to fubar it.
