Thanks for the replies, I do have Poser file editor, and it is excellent, and it will remove the extra materials.
I was just hoping for a way to do this from inside Poser to save time. It would be so nice to just run a script to fix my error.
I'm considering Poser Pocket Knife.
Thread: OBJ Editing / UVmapping Question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
What I do is import one mapped object into Poser. Duplicate that object and position it. Repeat until I have the all of the objects I want as a new prop, and then export everything as a obj. When you re-import the obj file Poser has put it all together for you. The many objects are now one, and they retain their individual mappings.

I'm from Michigan originally, and even though I've been living in California for 50 years IÂ still drink Vernors. (Ginger Ale) :)
Thread: What's the news on Poser Pro 2010? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I do have a 64 bit operating system, which is one reason I'm very anxious for Poser Pro 2010.

I agree, that is why I would like to get into the Poser 2010 beta. But I cant find a resonable way to do that.

Could anyone explain why there is no side grade pricing for Poser 8 users to Poser Pro?
It seems very unfair to poser 8 users to have to pay $499.99 for Poser Pro only to get $129.00 off of Poser Pro 2010? Especially when the Beta is already in progress.
I know I should just wait for the new version availability, but I would like to participate in the Beta. I'd even pay a reasonable upgrade price for Poser 2010 now if I could get into the Beta program.
I know I have asked this before, but since I have not heard an official response I'll keep asking.
Thread: poser 8 versus poser 8 pro... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I feel a little cheated because IÂ have Poser 8 and the side grade to Poser Pro is only for Poser 6/7 owners. I don't want to pay $499.99 for a program that is going to be replaced in a few months.
I'm ineligible to participate in the Beta because I don't own both versions.
I would buy Poser Pro now though, if I that entitled me to upgrade to Poser Pro 2010 when it comes out.

I have this same problem occasionally also.
I'm not sure what the firewall settings are, but the machine is not connected to a network at all.
Usually closing Poser and restarting fixes it.

Well if they discount the price won't that also upset the Pro user's that paid the full price?
Upgrading recent customers is fairly common these days. If they upgrade new customers they would not have to discount the old stock. That seems more profitable to me.

I'd like to participate in this Beta, but I already have Poser 8 and It would not be smart to buy Poser Pro now that I know Poser 2010 is coming, possibly in a few months.
I would suggest that anyone buying Poser Pro going forward should be eligible for a free upgrade to Poser 2010. Maybe Smith Micro has plans to do this, but I don't see any mention of it on their site.
Â
I'm sure sales of Poser Pro would increase if they made this type of announcement. Seems to me like it would be selling point and a win/win for all concerned.
Would you be happy it you bought Poser Pro this late in the game, only to find out later about the Beta and Poser 2010?
Thread: [Semi-OT] Who's the oldest, still active member here? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm #247 and I still pop in and look around from time to time.
It is a nice surprise to see to see how many of the old timers still hang out here. A lot has changed though a lot also stays the same.
These days I'm sort of relearning Poser having not used it much since the Poser 4 days.

What is scary is that there is some BIG money on the other side of the Spyware game. The Sony rootkit scandal was a huge story, but there was almost no word of it in the popular press, possibly no one wanted to lose Sony's advertising. Link is for Mark's Sysinternals Blog, he is the guy that exposed Sony's rootkit. A very interesting story if you have never heard of it.Thread: OLD Versions of POSER | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks tastiger, It's true I'm not very active anymore, but I still lurk around in the shadows. :)

Somewhere in the back of my closet I still have a PC with DOS 3 and a 286 CPU! 640 k of memory and a 40 Meg Hard Drive. It's no doubt very rare and valuable now. LOL
As I recall it has a "SUPER VGA" card, which gives it an astounding 256 colors. It also has an original "Sound Blaster"!
Fire it up and the only thing on the screen is c:
Behind that computer is my old Atari 400 and a Commodore 64.
Ok, I admit it, I am a Pack Rat.
