Crescent, Thanks for the offer. I like what you've done with your website, and I might just have to take you up on answering a question or two, but I've sort of got it under control for now... It's a fairly simple design I'm working on, because my major concern is browser compatability, so for now I'm leaving out the bells and whistles. I would love to hear anyone's advice on frames and tables--particularly tables-- and ESPECIALLY if there's a sure-fire way to make a background image fill an entire page, regardless of the viewer's screen resolution, without doubling over and without causing scroll bars to appear on the horizontal? Cheers, Mike

Hi all, Thanks for the info. Since I'm kind of at a loss, design-wise right now, I think I'm gonna start working on the links page. Crescent, of course I'll be supplying the URL-- my guess is that if people know it, they will probably be more likely to visit. ;) But just don't expect anything too fancy, because no one's ever going to confuse me with some sort of pro web designer or anything! Even though my ISP gives me 10 megs of space, they don't have any kind of web tools/homepage sort of deal going on, so I'm on my own as far as the html pages are concerned, but I've got a few html editing programs....it's just slow-going. It probably won't be ready until around the middle of this week at the soonest though, unless soemthing happens and I end up with more time. I'm going to be REAL busy until the end of this year, and maybe even a little beyond. Oh well, back to it... Thanks again-- I'll be linking to all of you. :) Cheers, Mike

Looks cool so far, but those ferns back some seem to be floating or something...something just doesn't look quite right about them. I have the T-Rex too..pretty cool model, eh? Cheers, Mike

Cool, Varian, thanks. I wouldn't link an image from yours' or anyone else's site anyway. For that matter, it wouldn't even have occurred to me. It WOULD be a nice way to save space though, LOL... but don't worry, I have plenty of that for now. Cheers, Mike
Thread: Zygote Poser Goodie This Week: House | Forum: Vue
I managed to get it into Vue as .obj, and as .3ds too. I'm having a problem with it... I really like it, but if you make the glass material transparent, you find that the windows are just pasted on, and that behind the glass, is just an entire solid wall, making it impossible (?) to place a light inside the house and have it shine out through the windows. :( I tried using cubes as boolean "solutions", but that was so tedious, I couldn't stand it.

Cool, Bloodsong, thanks for the tip. It looks pretty good. :) Cheers, Mike << finally got home after "one of those days"

Varian, Yeah you're right... I wasn't so much talking about your models, but others, and many of which were in different formats which I had to texture and save as .vob to have in the object browser window, not to mention the ones of my own I've made. So far simple stuff like glasses and vases and all that newbie type thing, but currently I'm working on entire rooms and things of that nature. Not in Vue, but in other programs. Vue does booleans great, though, so when I want a boolean, I use Vue. Hopefully soon I'll have something to give out too. :) I mean to say I have alot of models I've downloaded, and it's easy to get confused. I' glad yours' come in Vob format with your website in the browser; at least I'll be able to remember which ones are yours'! :) Ya gotta excuse me... I'm burning my candle at both ends these days.....LOL Cheers, Mike
Thread: Poser animation to Vue ? | Forum: Vue
I just want to clear up what I meant. I figure you could export each pose in the movie as a separate object, couldn't you? Would it be possible to say, have him walking while clouds roll by, as long as you got all the poses in the right order, or would Vue's key-framing screw up the sequence? I have to admit to being completely ignorant of Vue's animation abilities. I still haven't tried anything other than the tutorial! Cheers, Mike

Thanks, both of you, but yeah, Guitta beat the both of you to the punch, and I have it all straightened out now. I actually spent a LONG time arranging models and texturing them, so I could have some look pre-assigned to everything, at least as a starting point rather than to have a bunch of gray objects. Some of those models of Varian's have alot of parts. And ya know, I'm still not done, but like I said, for me it's real easy to forget what I have and what I don't. Today for example I found a US Navy Helicopter model I forgot I had. it has like 400 some parts which all need materials assigned. And as luck would have it, all the parts are named with numbers and nothing at all descriptive. So thanks Varian, for part names sich as "cabinet", etc. ;) Cheers, Mike

The above link is only good for Wednesday, November 15, of course, for those who read this after this date, and are unfamiliar with E-on's Pic o' the day, but they do maintain the entire week at a time on a separate page. BTW, Nice picture , Sacred. :) Cheers, Mike

Larry, Glad you're enjoying it here. I couldn't really say if it's become more warm or friendly, as I myself have only been looking here since August when I first got Vue 3.1. but from what I remember, it's been a nice place all along. :) Feel free to De-Lurk as much as you want! So, you did get Mike and Vickie into Vue OK, right? It took me a few days of trying before I even bothered to notice Vickie's eye "problem". Yeah, really.... my first pics with Vickie were from a distance, and all I saw was white, but I couldn't tell her irises weren't showing up! LOL Oh well, what're ya gonna do? Cheers, Mike

WOW I didn't mean to put that up twice, but look below at what I saw after I submitted the first time. I copied/pasted from a page which was almost blank, then hit back and hit submiit again. Second time it went through. Is this more spider activity, or just "normal"? I see your point completely. I guess there's no way to block out a spider, eh? Man, you just can't win.
