that's cool, If I can at least solve the first part, as it seems I can now, I'll be happy. Thanks for the info on the option to drape from zero pose. That's apparently what I was missing. Thanks for the quick response... Dragontales
Thread: P6 Dynamic clothing help Please! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hey Deecey... I use Vue 5 esprit to create my scenes and I'm having a bit of trouble with dynamic clothes myself. I too came from P4. Can I have the clothing drape to the character's pose at from 1? Or does the first frame always have to be the zeroed pose. I also am having trouble getting the dynamic clothes into vue. I don't really know why though. The rest of the PZ3 loads into vue fine, but the dress is nonexistent. It's a prop, the same as the shoes, so why doesn't it show up when the shoes do? Hopefully you can help me out, Dragontales.

AHHHHHH that explains why when I imported the pz3 file into Vue 5 Esprit that the morphs were gone. I guess one reason not to use the separated binary file would be if you can open the poser file in another program. You've just helped solve a major mystery for me. Thanks for the info. Dragontales

Thread: Vue 5 Esprit and Poser 6 | Forum: Vue
Actually, I'm having a problem with Poser 6 and Vue 5 esprit. The figure came in ok, textures intact, etc. I used victoria 3 and had morphed her using the injected dials...(calf full, hip small, etc) While the figure came in with correct textures, the morphs were gone. Not sure why it would do this. I checked the file again in Poser and it was fine. Importing the figure as an OBJ worked, but as a PZ3, didn't. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dragontales

I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoo hoo. Not sure why it's doing it, but I figured out how to correct it. By simply inverting the normals, and then inverting them back, the problem went away. Not sure why, but that's what fixed it. Anybody have an idea why that worked?

Update.... I uninstalled the last update, and still got the same results. Please....someone tell me what's happening...How can the same exact file import differently now. Also...now that I unistalled the latest update, I want to put it back...I had it check for an update and it says it's already up to date....making me loose the last update. How do I get it back?

Ok, I had some time to experiment and what I found is starting to scare me. I had forgotten that I had already used this hair prop in an image, and it worked beautifully. (See Link) So I Compared the already imported hair prop (from the image) with a newly imported one from the same exact poser scene and got the results you see above. The newly imported one has the problems. I copied the material from the old one to the new, and had the same results. It appears as if the hair is getting messed up on import. I wonder if the last update from E-on is the problem. Any ideas. If my Vue is messed up, I'm going to cry. :)Thread: Poser Hair Transparency Problem in Vue5 d'esprit | Forum: Vue
I know the map was in there, but I'll go back and check the other settings. I'm starting to think it's just the way the shadows are making it look. It's been a busy few days at work, so I haven't been able to go back and figure it out yet. Thanks for the help so far. Dragontales

I'll try and get a higher render for you, but for now the hair is "Long Hair Evolution". I used the short one in previous renders with great results, but so far this one's been giving me problems. :) Dragontales

Actually, the camera is in the same exact spot. I made sure of that by placing a sphere in front of the camera in poser so that when I brought it into vue I could place a camera exactly the same. You can see in the eyes how on the poser render that her pupil "rests" on her lower eyelid, but on the vue render rests against the upper eyelid. Thanks for the reply, Dragontales No ideas about the hair?

Great...thanks for the info. I'm waiting to upgrade to 5 infinity, so that should be part of that package.

Is it possible to use Mapped shadows in vue? I thought the raytraced ones were the only way. If so, could you tell me how to change that? I use Vue5 d'esprit.

It sounds more like you the "noise" that happens in a render when the settings are set too low. Try using Ultra.
