Thread: Testing Poser 6 on AMD X2 4800+ | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I just my new Athlon X2 system (X2 4600+, GF 6800, 2 GB, RAID) so I'm really curious how it works out for others. I had my box configured with Windows 64, not sure if Windows 64 would have much benefit for Poser (or anything else), but it is supposed to support the dual cores better and help memory intensive apps (if you can believe the marketing). I'm still amazed at the raw power of this chip; I just ran Doom 3 at ultra high quality and had Poser render a full frame animation at the same time. Didn't drop a frame! Amazing...

aeilkema: Keep in mind that DS is still Beta software; they haven't gotten all the kinks worked out yet. I'm not even sure to what extent DS uses OpenGL; I've found the biggest limiting factor in it (as with Poser) is system memory and processing power. What's the specs on your system?
Thread: Lara Croft for P4 female still around? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, if you're interested, there is a really good freebie set for V3 at Animotions called "Project Lara" (as well as a whole mess of other comic characters, most based on Posette). The site does require setting up a free user account.

I run into that once and a while with Poser when I switch apps around a lot; just right click on Poser running in the app bar and select "maximize" - it always bring "all" of Poser back up for me.

Okay, posts like this drive me nuts. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but that is all it is after all, an opinion. And such, in my opinion: There is no "right" or "wrong" way of doing a figure. There is no "right" or "wrong" way of doing any kind of art. That's the point. Skinny, fat, tall, short, huge privates or small, WHO CARES! It's about what the ARTIST wishes to portray, and that may not be absolute "realism". Everyone has their own notions of beauty and art, and none is more correct than anyone else's. I for one would find it pretty boring if everyone's artwork had to conform to a set of "rules" on "realistic" figure design.

I bought the WW a couple of weeks ago, and I give it a hearty endorsement. I am actually amazed how well it works. I converted a lot of A3 and MD to V3 no problems, and primarily use it for adapting clothing to morphed figures (v2 and V3). It sometimes take a little tweaking - make sure to spend some time with it. I especially liked that fact that you don't have to leave Poser and fire up an outside app.

I'm with you Fish...I'm more scared of my "purchased" list here and at DAZ...I need to learn better impulse control... ;-)

Has anyone used Morph Designer 2.0 for this purpose? It's by the same author who did Clothing Converter.
Thread: An Overlooked use for Wardrobe Wizard | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Very interesting. I'm tring to find a decent replacement for The Tailor to inject morphs into clothing. Has anyone done a comparison between WW and Clothing Converter 2.2? They are the same price basically right now and seem to have the same functions.
Thread: Alternatives to the Tailor | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Okay; let me be clear on something first: with respect to everone's opinions and sensitivites on the subject of my crappy picture, I was just trying to show an obvious example of The Tailor's deformation problem for those that are not familiar with it. I was not trying to create a meaningful artistic study of what I consider to be the ideal female form (I just twirled 1 dial!)
My frustration with The Tailor is that it basically does what I want; it just seems to really butcher any kind of close fitting or smooth clothing no matter how small (or large) the morph. That, and it is coupled with the pain in rear issue of it not working with P6 characters that Nakamuram mentioned. I have a couple of magnet sets that do work well for things like breasts and body shapes, but mags have their own deformation issues and they don't work in DazStudio (yet). It sounds like WW is the way to go, but I would still would be interested in hearing if anyone has used Clothing Converter (or anything else) for this purpose.

Thanks for the tips guys. I think I'll kick around PoseRay a little. Hopefully "complete" version of DAZ studio will be out soon. The price is certainly right... ;-)

Nomuse - Is there any way to get Poser to write the transparency? Is there a utility to do this?
