Thanks very much Hellborn!!!!! I was having problems with importing of OBJ files that I'd made with another program. These files would import into Poser, Truespace, and everything else I could think of, but not Vue. Your technical information is great - allowed me to fix my stuff.
Thread: Does Vue animate water surfaces? | Forum: Vue
No Vue doesn't animate water surfaces, as far as making moving waves or wakes. If you use Max, there is the Seascape plugin. It is a little buggy but produces really good results when its working. Your best bet is WorldBuilder - the latest version. It even has a splash texture modeler. However, if its really large waves that you want, then you only have two expensive choices. Max with the Seascape plugin, or Maya Versions 4.0 or 4.5. The latest Maya 4.5 has a wonderful Fluids generator, also with spray generator. But, you are looking at a $5,000. expenditure. Max, Maya and even Truespace do wind effects.

Hey kissAble. I use Truespace (and some other higher end programs) and would be happy to help you through the learning process. Walk you through the basics and go along with you as you build your first object. Want to try it? Just tell me what you want to build, and we can do it together. forester
