I'd pay above cost, so what would that be, $30-50? I still assume they were gladly getting rid of the boxed copies of 5, whereas 6 is a new item. Still, I'm used to $200 getting something I can hold in my hand...

Well, that all sounds about the same as Caligari's handling of TS 7.5. They even e-mailed us to ask if we wanted 7.5 on the disks, or if we preferred to wait until 7.51. I assume it was a majority decides type of thing...
Now I'm just hoping that they'll give those who bought during the sale the option of buying the boxed set at reduced cost. Both of my computers are workstations, and I already don't spend enough time in front of them to be reading digital manuals. I'd like to have the proper boxed version for that reason.
Is there any word of any Carrara 6 books in the works?

No, I was just trying to find another picture of the original car. All of the ones I'm finding have some differences, making it hard to tell if it's the same car or not.
Thread: Carrara pre-purchase modelling question... | Forum: Carrara
I thought it was new until I googled it and saw that I'd looked at it before. I did think it was a plug-in the first time I read the page. (Hmmm... Maybe it could become a plugin for Carrara?)

Well, that sucks. I even asked if the upgrade would be the same as what we ordered, reg-to-reg, pro-to-pro and then just stupidly assumed if I bought 5 boxed I'd get 6 boxed as well.

Now what kind of car is in the picture again? I've been googling Plymouths for 15 minutes and I can't find anything with that ridged gille/hood.

The first $5 prop item I saw that didn't require me to have something I did not. A pair of platform boots, I believe.

Essentially you are just saying that EF needs a couple more artists who do understand these technical issues to step in at the end of development and oversee the selection of the default settings. That seems reasonable to me, as I have a similar issue with bump maps. Those were changed to reflect, I assume, some kind of real world measurement. To me it seems as the useful range for the bump node is now somewhere between .01 and .001. Any lower and I see little effect, any higher and I tent to get artifacts. Not a large working range given the range it actually accepts.

Well, going way back, poser was an artist tool to have a model in leiu of live bodies. Still works for that lol.
Assuming the user is enough of an artist to know when a pose is or isn't accurate. There are just so many natural motions, that when applied to a majority of figures, produce unnatural deformations which are the result of an oversimplified joint system. I'm not saying it's that bad, but it could use an overhaul given that the focus of the program is posing. Now I wish they'd just called it "Mannequin" instead. I'd rather be a mannequin than a poser, lol.

The shading rate is always listed as minimum. So if the render shading rate is higher than the figure/object shading rate it will override that value. If that value is lower then there will be no noticeable change, as the higher value always prevails.

Hmm.... GMC releases a new improved hi tech trailer boat hitch for the existing Yukon Denali for $300 USD
WAIT!! I already have a Boat and a Yukon Denali that I bought 18 months ago
knowing full well it had the old standard trailer hitch.GMC has done me a grave INJUSTICE by adding an improved trailer hitch
that I GRATUITOUSLY ASSERT "should " have been included with the Yukon denali
I was Suckerd into buying 18 months ago.Amazing!! only in the world of poser does such convaluted "logic exist
It's more like they offer you a regular Denali and a Pro Denali, the only difference is the regular one you have to pedal while the Pro one has an engine.
