Thread: VUE5, OpenGL, and .pz3's issues | Forum: Vue
Just got back in, walther! Had to give my two remaining brain cells a bit of fresh air '-)! Going to go back into 5 and see what I can do by fiddling with the controls...although I am still a bit muddled as to the fact that 4 would handle the 105Mb like it did and 5 wants to give up at only 65-70Mb? Java in hand, I'm going in...watch my back...LOL!!

ROFL, walther! I wish I could load 750 mil poly's! That should read 750,000! Anyhoo, I did try saving all the Poser peeps as .vob's and that did not help either! As for the "waiting for VUE to OK the model", I did experience this before and had to wait for the prog to OK my Posers, but this time 'round VUE just wasn't gonna cooperate '-)! I'm wondering, walther...if you or anyone else could let me know what settings you are using as far as OpenGL so I could have an idea of what I should be looking for re: a possible starting point! I have now gone back into Vue4 and currently have had no problems with this scene which is now up to 105Mb and well over a million poly's and thus far no signs of sluggishness...fingers crossed as I jinx myself here...LOL!
Looking forward to any further suggestions, ideas?
steve
Thread: How do you check on an order? | Forum: Vue
Aha! I see that I am not alone in the "waiting on shipment" line here! I received via e-mail from e-on a notification that my copy had been shipped at 9:59AM on Sept 30th! After waiting patiently for far too long with no tracking number available I finally contacted e-on via their web-site on Oct 6th to make them aware of this. On ThursAM, the 7thOct, I finally was awarded a tracking number which led me to find out(via UPS's site...e-on didn't get back to me until today!!)that my shipment didn't actually go out of Oregon until the 4th of October and wouldn't be here(the Boston, Ma area)until Mon the 11th of October!! So much for 3-5 days for UPSGround Shipping, eh?!? Since I am always looking for the silver lining in every little set-back, I can only console myself with the fact that I didn't go for any of the extra shipping charges as well'-)! But, all I know is...it's gonna be a very long weekend knowing that I will hopefully have my copy on Monday!

Thread: problem saving scene | Forum: Vue
Ya know, dlk30341...I, too, was thinking along the lines of the Posers, but then again...I have, in the past, had upwards of a dozen of 'em, including the third generations, so I'm not quite sure that this would be the problem here! Would love to go back in and check this idea out, but just don't have it in me to reconstruct this scene from the last "available" save '-)! And obviously in this latest render, the plantlife is certainly not the issue '-). Definitely gonna hang in and see if anyone else has anything to add here!

And here I was thinking that I was unique with this little problem?!? The render I just posted here at the galleries http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=690170 was giving me exactly the same annoying little pop-up! I am running a P4/1.9Ghz/1GigRAM with almost 19Gig free space...the scene mentioned above weighed in at about 800 objects, 16 lights, approx. 150Mb in size, and well under 3 million poly's. I always hide and make layers invisible before rendering...except when I forget '-), and have rendered much larger files in the past...yet am still finding myself in this same situation! Any other thoughts on this matter would be greatly appreciated! ==steve==

Happy belated b-day, walther! Another year older and wiser, I'm sure '-)! As I'll be enduring another b-day myself tomorrow...yeah, a V-day baby...it occurs to me that there may be a streak of insanity that is inherent to we Aquarians, eh?!? LOL!
