Personally, I think if you have freestuff, you should let people make all the commercial renders that they want to. I am against someone reselling or redistributing the freestuff on its own - but the renders geez... that sorta goes against why you gave it out in the first place. I dont care how much you render, render till your socks fall off. If you manage to sell your renders, bravo - you must be pretty good at rendering then. I have made one freestuff, which I allowed people to do just this, anything you want, commercial or not. I didn't even want credit because it was a morph, and I didn't feel that I did enough work to warrant any credit (it was one of my first morphs and could have been better). I had to take it down later, but because of BANDWIDTH problems, not because of people using it. Its nice to give credits to people that have contributed a great deal to a piece, but I think this is simply nuts if its a small contribution to an overall work. And if its something you bought - thats even more nuts. I'd say if you gave it to someone to do product renders promoting the product, then YEAH they better put credits there... but when you bought it fair and square... no I dont think so.

Horses have brindles too - this pic on the link is a really good one of a brindled horse. this is a tortie cat below, you will notice they are patched not striped - whereas the dogs and that horse definitely are striped, no two ways about it :) http://www.cfainc.org/breeds/profiles/persian-parti.html brindle in dogs is always defined as being black stripes on a fawn background (just like that horse in the pic oddly enough) Pick up a book on AKC standards and look for various entries like Boxers, Great Danes, Whippets, Mastiffs, etc, lots of information and photos with brindle dog colouring in such books :)... its not 'tiger' type striping but dogs with this colouring do have the intersecting stripe patterns down the ridge of their spines somewhat like tigers though (when not too darkly brindled) on the other hand I have seen some mixcoloured Great Danes with Harlequin-type brindle striped patches on a white background - talk about strange!! (definitely not a legal colouring for Danes but pretty) True spotting or patches in dogs is MUCH rarer than being brindled :)Thread: Why don't dogs have stripes? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

this link here shows you how brindle can be light or dark - the 'tortie' type of dark brindle is on this one too dogs also come in spots :) my favourite kind actually - other than great danes, australian cattle dogs and shetland sheepdogs can be spotted too. http://www.dogware.com/195germanpups3.htmThread: Why don't dogs have stripes? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

oh now I found a link with a light brindle :) hm, brindle sure looks like stripes to me - depends on what kind of brindle it is. you have dark brindles that almost look black aka tortoiseshell like - but you have the fawn type with lighter black striping too. Its common in Great Danes (as in the picture) and I have seen this type of brindle in Whippets too.Thread: What is a Poser Pro Pack avatar? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

There is also rose. Link provided goes to the company website. http://www.moove.com/ you can make your own characters/avatars there too, and the supplied surfaces for making people are surprisingly very realistic. Avatars are more posable and versatile than in viewpoint/adobe. The scripting language for developing animations/avatars (in rose they are called actors) is relatively easy to pick up - much simpler than javascript. Importing new surfaces to the proprietary format that the program uses is easily done with a conversion tool obtainable from most actor designers or from moove directly. Later this year, it will be upgraded to a 16 bit colour version, with the added ability to create your own rooms and furniture. There will be a copy protection feature/encryption in the new version as well, to protect your work from unauthorised distribution. I'm really looking forward to that version, but even as it is right now - I really find it beats most other platforms for interactive 3d. only caveat is that its not a world - its more like a 3d ICQ. (its IP to IP, not client/server - therefore there is no 'world' per se)Thread: Will anyone scream at me if I jump on the money bandwagon? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

my first message didnt show up, I'm trying it again lol... Personally I believe that there needs to be both a free and a pay area. People that are just learning the ropes need the free stuff to help them out. I cannot express how much I enjoy the free area. When you develop a professional technique that is actually worth buying, then is the time to think about putting some items in the shop. When you use images and models for professional and commercial use, you need the shop to buy high quality work, and the rights to use that work in your commercial projects. sometimes, its cheaper for some of us in other countries (I am in Germany) to actually buy a CD than it is to download a zillion files... did you know that??? My friend in Greece would buy a compilation CD long before she would spend the expensive time downloading VERY SLOWLY all these free characters, morphs, and props... fyi. It wasnt so long ago when my local telephone calls amounted to 200 dollars or so a month. (thank god for flat rate here now - the internet part of the phone bill has gone down to about 50 dollars a month or so... still not cheap but a lot better than it WAS...)A CD, its price is often not so bad if you think of what it can cost to download... What I would like though is more shops to think about foreign-friendly e-commerce solutions. Some shops cause unnecessary hardships with international orders, simply because their payment methods are badly planned (do not accept international credit cards, addresses, etc). In free stuff, most of the items are for personal use only. Indeed much of it is 'pay stuff' if you decide to actually make money with it. But its there as a gift of generosity for those that need the free stuff to experiment and learn with. I am a strong supporter of both areas and believe we should do our upmost to have good work in both the pay and free areas. I am relatively new to poser, after coming back to it from a few years ago. I have every intention to distribute some of my work for free to get some feedback on my work. But, I have every intention to sell photorealistic textures I'm currently creating for poser and other programs. I have 20 years of experience painting and drawing the human figure, and I will put that experience to good use for fun and profit in poser as well. I already charge people for webdesign and portraits, I will eventually charge for some poser things too! take care, bijouThis site uses cookies to deliver the best experience.
