I have several other of Neftis' hair products, and so far this is the only one I've ended up with such horrible problems with. She has 4 (I think) P5 hair products out already, so obviously is coming to the site to upload her products. I think both of us (at least) would appreciate it if you could contact her, Clint, and find out why she's not responding to questions from her customers. The conform problem may have something to do with the way the product installed, don't know. But I'm quite disappointed.

I also bought the extra vegetation, but just the ones that I didn't have already. If you haven't emailed them about what happened, maybe if you went into detail about what plants you bought and what you already had, they will work with you on this? I hope it works out ok for you.

I have several dozen programs on my graphic machines, and have absolutely NO problems with any of them, including Bryce 4 & 5, Poser 4, Photoshop 6, etc. The only program that has given me constant problems is Vue. If it was a "high-end" program, like the pros use, I can see it needing specific and special care and feeding, but it's advertised to run on Windows platforms. From E-on's requiremnts page: Minimum System Requirements for PC Version Windows 95/98/ME or Windows NT4/2000 or Windows xp, 300MHz Pentium II processor or faster (450MHz recommended), 64 MB of free RAM (128MB recommended), 100 MB of free Hard Disk space, 800x600 in 65K colors/16 bits (1024x768, 24 bits recommended). An OpenGL accelerated video board is not required, but is a big plus. Minimum System Requirements for Apple Macintosh Version Mac OS X, 300MHz G3 processor or faster, 64 MB of free RAM (128MB recommended), 100 MB of free Hard Disk space, 800x600 in 65K colors/16 bits (1024x768, 24 bits recommended). Again, an OpenGL accelerated video board is not required, but is a big plus. I do get a chuckle out of the last sentence....Vue will not work for me unless I disable that function in Vue. Doesn't seem to affect anything else. Anyhow, you have my sympathies for the hassle you went through.
Thread: Poser imports not rendering with 4.1 | Forum: Vue
So far, I've had no problems rendering Poser imports into a Vue scene with 4.1. However, I was still having big problem with hangs and crashes, regardless of whether or not there was any kind of import in the scene, so I checked the FAQs at E-on and turned off the background drawing and OpenGL thing. Works well now. fingers and toes crossed
Thread: Texture questions | Forum: Vue
I downloaded the brick maker to test it out a few days back. Yesterday, when I went to install it on my graphics machine (which is a standalone, not online), the executable install looked for a internet connection. I'm a bit suspicious about that, so am not installing it on this machine (my surfing machine). If anyone else is using it, I'd love to hear about it. Meanwhile, I am working on enlarging the texture. I will probably do a fill, and multiply the mosaic, at a fairly large size. I am learning how important high-resolution textures are vs the small 50x50 or 100x100 ones you find all over the net.

I have had a similar problem since I purchased Vue. If you go to the FAQ at the link, and look at the first question, you'll see a possible remedy. Has to do with the way Vue is "multi-threaded" or something. Also, you may want to update drivers for your graphics card. I tried doing that first, but it didn't solve the problem; I did what the FAQ suggested, and so far *knock on wood* so good. Has also worked for a friend of mine having a similar strange problem with her display.Thread: JULY CHALLENGE IS CLOSED - VOTE BEGINS | Forum: Vue

Thread: Vue d | Forum: Vue
The import function into terrain editor is working well for me, but the render start is long, as Ainle said above. This didn't happen with previous updates. I have also had system freezes with Vue 4 (and updates) that I've never had with any of the other 15 or 20 graphics apps on my system. I have an Athlon 1G, 90M hard drive space, 512M DDram, memory swap space at max 2048/min 1024, GeForce with 32M on card, running W2K Pro. I have Bryce 4 & 5, Terragen 844, Amapi, Amorphium, ZBrush, among other apps on my system. My system will freeze so bad that I can't bring up the task manager with cntl-alt-del, or even power it off with power off button. I have to turn it off at the power strip! Which of course is wonderful for my system. Now, if over a dozen other sophisticated apps are not causing any problem at all for my machine, but 1 app is, that sure makes me think there's something about that 1 app...
