It's fine now! It saves my preferences and windows states.
For me SR3 solved quite a few interface annoyances, like I had to double click real slow or nothing would happen. In general the response of the interface is much quicker now.
Thread: Can't set preferences SR3 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I solved the problem!
When I installed SR3 it asked whether I wanted to keep my preferences. I choose the "backup" option. When I looked in the user/library/preferences folder I saw there were 2 Poser preferences folders. One called Poser 7 (old preferences) and one called Poser20080710. I moved the old Poser 7 folder to the desktop and renamed the other one to Poser 7.
That solved my problem!

Or... you open the ecosystem material, click on paint and use the eraser brush to remove the trees manually.
Cheers!
Thread: Does Poser Pro's Dynamic Cloth Simulation use Multithreading? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Oh well, at least I can keep doing other things while Poser is busy... ;)Â
Thanks for your reply!Â

Use the spin function in the animation toolbox or the wizard pop-up.
In the object properties of the blades set animation to Basic. The wizard pops up. Click next until you see "Spin". Use Z axis for revolution and set the revolving speed as high as you want.
For best results use motion blur on blades.
You can change settings later in the animation toolbox (object properties or timeline).
Thats it!
Thread: Preview is good, but rendered VOB is White? | Forum: Vue
Try adding the Poser Textures library as a collection to Vue's Materials library (Do not copy them! Just create a new collection of it). Then try importing the Poser object again.
When Vue can't find the material it will suggest the closest match within it's own library.
Works for me all the time.....!
There is a script in Poser, it's called "collect scene" I think, where you can save the object with it's textures to a  folder you specify.

Halelujah Rutra,
Â
We think alike brother! Amazing how similar our settings are.
Â
I usually start of with a a spectral atmo, turn the balance all the way to ambiance. Then I imagine what the scene would look like on a cloudy day. Ramp up the Sky dome gain, Artificial ambiance and Light intensity until I find a convincing balance. Then I turn up the sunlight / ambiance balance to somewhere between 10% and 35% until I get this nice early morning / late afternoon feel.
Â
I do a lot of character rendering, and settings saved for that purpose quite often do not work on landscapes. There is no universal setting!
Â
I live in Northern Europe and I realise that depending on where you live on this globe your light reference for reality will be quite different. My sunlight is always soft, somewhere between 1 and 3 degrees. Also what is your reference medium? Film, digital camera or maybe your own eyes??
Â
Happy rendering :-)

Thread: Poser 6 to Vue 6 Esprit Import | Forum: Vue
When you imported the animation did you see the window where you can choose to import a single frame or the whole animation? If not, go to preferences and on the "General Preferences" tab select "Restore disabled messages" and import the Poser animation again. Ignore the Vue warnings and see if it works...
Thread: resize pz3 | Forum: Vue
I did this test ones: Created four box primitives in Poser, spaced them 1 meter appart in width and height, resized the four boxes to something like 0.1 %. You should now have a square 1m x 1m with tiny cubes. Saved and imported in Vue. If I wanted exactely the same size I had to scale the object by 1.111. Did a similar thing with V4, placing her between two very thin slabs. She turned out to be something like 1.94m (she must be Dutch then!) in Poser, which is a bit too tall for everage I would say. When I imported her into Vue without any scaling, she became approx. 1.74m which is much more average in my opinion. So, if you import a human character I would not scale the pz3.
Thread: Is it possible to set AA per texture ? | Forum: Vue
True, but it only switches AA on or off for the defined material, it does not set any quality... By the way, if you set the quality slider of AA to 100% it does not mean that Vue will use all the "Subrays per pixel" you have defined in the settings. What I have undestood is, that it will use at least the minimum amount of Subrays per pixel, and then will use more untill it decides the quality of AA for that pixel has reached 100% or the maximum of "Subrays per pixel" has been used. What I am trying to say is: If you set a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 100, with a quality of 40%, the renderer might use the 12 "Subrays per pixel" for every pixel. Even though 2 might be enough for some areas (blue sky) while 40% will not be enough quality for other areas (hair).
Thread: Is it possible to set AA per texture ? | Forum: Vue
Errrmmm............................................................................................no! sorry ;) Yes quality hair takes a long time to render. There are a few things you can do. If I use the Aery Soul Liltsure hair for instance I usually turn of "receive shadows" for the material, which saves a LOT of render time! You can see the difference of course but it does not look unnatural to me. Or render the scene with normal quality without the hair and then do an area render with the quality settings and with the hair....
Thread: Light through curtains | Forum: Vue
Give it a little bit of transparency, try 5 to 10% or so. To ad on more realism give the material a bump, so you start to see a patern when light comes through. You could also try to drive a variable tranparency with the bump map. There is a noise node in the function editor called "fabric" which works quite well. Cheers!!
Thread: How Do I Wrap An Alpha Plane Around An Object | Forum: Vue
Depending on how close your camera is to the sphere, you clould duplicate the sphere, enlarge it a tiny bit, and apply the second imagemap. The image should come with some sort of tranparency map or you will lose the underlying sphere.
