Maybe I'm missing something, but in Poser 5 I just switch to a different runtime library, select a figure in said library (but not insert in or anything, just hilite it), then change banks, then go back to the modified runtime. no lock errors. On the other hand, i'm running win2k.
Thread: Must I use .jpg texture for marketplace items? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Very true, ernyoka1. I usually limit my textures to 1024x1024 (96dpi) at the most, unless it absolutely has to have higher resolution. I did offer higher (4000x4000) res head textures for my (never got past alpha testing) Jinna character, but only as a seperate download.

Thanks! I had allready tried that, was thinking about using it for an old style Cylon... too late now, so never mind, folks.

Save one of your textures as a normal JPG with no compression/100%. Zoom in, about 400%; do the same with the base BMP. you MAY, POSSIBLY be able to detect a difference. If it's just toooo lossy for you, try the experiment with PNG files; they work pretty well.

In the clothing I've done (which is almost all dynamic, BTW) all you have to do is use the figures dials to smooth the nipple out, and voila! no nipple. I can't really see anyone who does a conforming top not including a nipple smoother; it seems pretty obvious.

Thread: OT: any free app to convert avi to mov? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Grrr. Just wrote a long post, walked away from the computer, came back and hit send...and it was erased. to make a long story short, get tinra to convert from .rm to .av, stoik for .wmv to .avi, and vdub 13c (nothing newer) to do .asf to .avi and if anyone has a better free option than tinra, please clue me in!

ABC video roll lets you do it, but unless you have quicktime pro you are going to be limited to using cinepak codec. if you have problems getting hold of it (I couldn't find a link quickly) put up a link to where its at and i'll convert it for you.
Thread: Poser Hair + Clothes! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
if you are using dynamic hair, I don't think you can export it into bryce; no idea about truespace. you can export to Vue and 3dstudio if thats the case. I think (stress the think) that you can pose dynamic hair the way you want it, then export it as a .obj by itself, then do you figure export, and then put them together in bryce. But i might be wrong.

Thread: FaceGen Question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the input, folks; I'll keep looking for someone who has the software. BastBlack, I know P5 has facegen incorporated into the face room for the don/judy characters, but I have no idea about P6. It's really, really limited in comparison to facegen stand-alone, though.
