Quote - If you did a new install to a Poser 9 runtime, you will need to update.
Now, if you did that, you can install as many morph packs as you want for V4 and run the updater just once. It will find all the morph packs you have insatlled and update them.
It's a one off job per morph set. So, if you installed V4++Morphs, then you don't need to run the updater after you have run it for that set of morphs.
All the best.

If I am understanding you correctly, I believe I did a new install to Poser 9. That is I installed V4 new into the Poser 9 runtime. However, I have V4 installed in my Poser 7 & 8 runtimes as well. I am having the problem no matter which runtime I use to load V4 into Poser 9.
One last question just to be sure that I am understanding correctly. If go to the !Daz folder and run the updater you mentioned will it automatically find the all Daz morphs in the runtime? Does that include the Elite morphs and muscle morphs too? Or do I need to load V4 and install all the morphs first? I seem to recall that there is a pose that will install all the morphs, although I never use that because there are so many.
Thanks for everyone's help on this.

Quote - It's a one time deal, no need to reload for each character. If it was loading fine in P8, it should load fine in P9. The only recommendation coming to mind is rebooting P9 and trying again.
BTW, did you link the P8 runtime to P9 or did you reload the character file into P9?
Both. I have must of my V4 stuff in a Poser 7 runtime that I also used in Poser 8. I have my M4 stuff in the Poser 8 runtime. However I have the V4 and M4 figures in all three runtimes so I can get to them quickly. I have both runtimes linked to Poser 9.

Quote - First off never trust the updater to actually update. I used to have so much trouble with them.
Instead do the following:-
Go into your RuntimeLibraries folder.
You will see a folder called !DAZ, go into that folder.
Now look for this file:-
DzCreateExPFiles-V4
Double click that and it will update your V4.
It may be easier to install all your new morphs at the same time and then run the batch file once. Otherwise you have to do the above after every time you install a new morph set.
All the best.

Are you saying that I would need to do this one time with all the standard Daz V4 morphs and after that they will load correctly? Hopefully I don't have to do this everything I load a new character. I can't recall ever doing this with Poser 7 or 8.

Maybe I am not explaining this correctly, or morphs is not the right term. What I am referring to is loading a character pose to V4. In Poser 8 I would load V4.2 and from my poses load Mihrelle's Abbi character for example. That loads all the morphs for the Abbi character. I would select the body and adjust the dials to taste. In Poser 9 I do the same thing and it doesn't load all the morphs and those that do load don't apppear under Body, I have to go to each body part. Problem is that certain morphs (I think that is the correct term), like inhale, affect both the chest and the abdomen. But the morph dial only appears under the chest. That causes a noticeable gap to appear between the chest and the abdomen.
Thread: Vue vs Bryce? | Forum: Vue
I can't comment on Vue vs. Bryce, having never used Bryce, but from experience you will probably want the Vue Ecosystem module. I started out with Vue d'esprit but soon learned that Ecosystem was necessary for realistic scenes. Otherwise you have to place hundreds or thousands of individual plants yourself. Look at the price of Vue d'esprit plus Ecosystem module vs. buying Vue Studio. Hope this helps.

Eon usually puts everything on sale for about half off in September, just before the new edition is available.

BTW, I just tried adding my Poser 8 runtime and got the same result. I clicked add library navigated to the Psoser 8 contents folder in My Documents and selected Poser 8 Contents. That is the main folder which contains the runtime folder. Now in Poser 9 I have a Poser 8 Contents llibarry, but when I slect it all I see are the contents of the Character folder.

Quote - Do you mean that in the library you see the word "Character" ? If so you did something horribly wrong.
When you add a library, the library appears in every category by virtue of it having a subfolder for every category. If it doesn't have a specific category subfolder, Poser creates it.
It is not possible for a library to appear in only one category.
How about a screen shot of what you see?
No, under libraries I see Poser 7, but when I select it all I see are the folders and subfolders of the character folder. The Poser 7 runtime is set up correctly. I have added additional folders and subfolders under character, props, poses, etc. but did not change the organization of the primary folders.

Laurie,
I tried what you suggested. I selected the Poser 7 folder, rather than the Poser 7 Runtime folder, but still got the same result. Poser 7 shows up in my list of Libraries, but it only contains the Character foler. Any idaa what I am doing wrong?

It won't read your Poser 7 libraries? That would be a problem. What error messages are you getting?

Quote - you can click on the window you want to change, then zoom in with the mouse wheel.
if you want to pan around in the window, click and hold the right mouse button.
Thanks! I thought it must be something simple, but I guess so am I because I couldn't figure it out! LOL Thanks again!

Thread: SkinVue not working?? | Forum: Vue
I am using Vue 9 Studio and just purchased SkinVue. I have not had a chance to try it yet, but hope to this weekend. When I load the Poser file do I select to use the Poser shader tree? Does SkinVue automatically do its thing once I load the phython script?

You would have to buy upgrades to your Vue 9 modules. I would suggest waiting to the early fall (probably September) when they will put Vue 10 on sale for 50% off before Vue 11 comes out and upgrade to Vue 10 Studio.

If you are interested in Sci-Fi then check out Foundation 3D, they have some outstanding free models mostly in lightwave format. Of course you will have to have the import module. Before you buy a lot of modules you might want to check the cost of upgrading to at least Vue esprit since it includes the import and render up modules.
