I'd start a new thread on this UV Mapper question because there are plenty of folks out there who have used it much more extensively than I have. I'm sure they will be glad to assist.

Acadia,
One other thing: be sure you are doing your test renders with enough quality - halfway or more should be sufficient and don't forget to check the "use displacement maps" box if you are doing any displacement. Seems simple enough, but I sometimes forget.

First of all, take a look at the advanced tab to see what the texture map being used for Diffuse_Color is, and what other nodes are involved, if any. Make sure that the U & V scales are set to 1.000 and check the autofit box with no tiling.

GWSK,
There is a python script in the printInfo section that may be of use to you. It lists all the internal names of objects in the open file. Just open the python scripts window and select the appropriate section and script & the rest is automatic.
I also played around a bit with adding text over a material and could include an example if it is of any interest.

nruddock,
I'm not sure what you mean by "color." The height of the bump is directly related to the whiteness of the bumpmap. White is max "up" as dialed in, black is at the base level of zero.
Acadia,
In the above texture, you would have to create a greyscale image from the texture map (this could be done with floor or clamp nodes, but is probably easier in Photoshop), invert it so that the black hairs are now white and then use a paintbrush to blacken everything else so it has no effect. Plug this into the Bump or Displacement Node and use a setting somewhere around 0.003 to start. Want some fun, plug it into the Displacement Node and use a setting of 5! BoogaBooga!!

Laslo,
What exactly is meant by your last statement that if, "...the user ignores the message more than 4-5 times, this will effect the operation of the software)."
What specifically will happen?
I am not in the habit of keeping the computer I use for anything critical connected to the internet. The potential risks are far too great. I briefly acceded to the requirement of a connection in order to validate my installation, but have no intention of ever doing so again short of a hard drive malfunction necessitating a complete reinstallation.
This question of the connection was asked numerous times when VFB was first released and the information given at that time was that the validation connection was the only one ever required. Now you are giving a totally different response, so I ask again, what specifically will happen after 4 or 5 of these messages?

Softshot,
Since you kind of came in in the middle of this thread, it's to be expected that we would be dealing more with Greywolf Starkiller's problems than yours. Might I respectfully suggest that you start a new thread describing your problem with Poser 4? That way you'll get responses from people who use and know Poser 4, not people trying to solve the "Mystery of the disappearing submarine."

I remember you were looking for a texture in another thread, but I'm too tired to track it down, so I'll just use this thread instead. I don't remember if you are using Poser 5 or 6, but the material should be the same in either one. The User Defined node allows total control over the color. Just use very small increments when you make changes. (Click for a more readable image).
Glad the bells rang re: the missing parts.

AhHa!
Now that I know what you mean by invisible, I may be able to help.
If there are different actor names in the two files you will end up with missing parts. If the cr2 calls for "rHip" and the equivalent geometry is named "rightHip," the part will not load and will be "invisible."
They are not invisible, they are simply not there.
You'll have to load each into a text editor and work your way through the actor name structures to see where they differ.

you might try simply creating the hull with a procedural shader in the material room instead of using a texture map.

can you post a screen shot of your material room settings?
Have you tried simply using another material just to see, e.g., select all nodes and delete the present material from the skin, it will then just be white preview. now create a new diffuse_color node like a 2D texture map and just select any jpg you have handy. make sure transparency is 0.0 with no other settings except diffuse_color set to white. that should help pin down the problem.
