I think I'd switch to Superhero or SuperHero which arn't trademarked. God, what have we come to when companies own bits of our language?
Thread: Poser Hair vs. Painted hair..... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I guess I can see Avengia's point to some extent. I too prefer a more natural/realistic approach to poserwork. To me, simple things quietly stated can be more moving than attempts to make striking images. Here are two samples of my work - poor lighting, almost everything free stuff etc. etc., but I'm only new to this. I prefer to use good hair (Kozaburo) to start with and have no experience painting hair. Keep up the spirited debate.
Thanks to Kozaburo, Yagami and many others for their freestuff.

I second anxcon on the separate image idea. I get much better results by rendering to stills and compiling in Monkey Jam, and then rendering to AVI with no compression. Also if there are any imperfections on a few frames you can fix them in a 2D editing program. I've found default P5 AVI renders are not of very high quality, or is it my codecs?

Happened to me with Poser 4. I fixed it the way you have been trying to do (un/reinstall). Maybe you should contact Curious Labs or whoever owns it now. I'm sure they have a help desk.

Probably somewhere in your Curious Labs folder or possibly in My Documants. Renders are by default called "Render .." followed by a number starting from 1. You should be able to search for a file called "render" Or if desperate search for the file format, BMP or JPG.

Thanks svdl,
I'm really only a novice to Poser, and some of the things you described I have no idea how to do properly (only just played around with it), eg. applying bones, stripping morphs etc. But thanks heaps for your reply. Maybe I should stick to my current method until I become smarter with Poser (or richer)whichever happens first.

The thing I've been doing wrong is not using "Current Render Settings", I did not change from default "Current Display Settings" - stupid me. HELL it takes a long time to render a 2 second animation.
Thanks for your patience Opera and goodbye.

Thanks again Opera! I'll give it a go tonight. Kozaburo hair is not dynamic so I don't really care about the dynamic side of things at the moment. You do animations to individual image files. What is the advantage of this? Can it later be made into a movie file format? My purpose is to have an animation for a DVD menu title page, so I need something that I can import into a DVD authoring program (AVI, MPEG etc.) Thanks again for all you help and advice. Ashley

Thanks again Opera I tried again last night. When I go to renger settings for the animation I set up a Firefly render at "production" not "draft" quality (or is it preview??). (I think this is what it says, it's not in front of me at the moment"). I render to the current wondow - is this the problem. Should I render to a defined window size? or am I totally off the point with this? When you say "preview" do you mean the quality of the render - the options at the top of the render window? I must be doing something stupid somewhere. The only change I make to Firefly render default settings is to select the high quality render option ("production"??) then render the animation to the curremt window. Ashley

I don't remember seeing a setting within "Make Movie" with the option to render or preview. I'll have a better look tonight. Thanks very much Opera.
