Thread: Victoria Update? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Melanie, here is what I did to tackle the army of Victoria's growing on the hard drive! First off, I did download the updates, since they are worth the trouble. Secondly I took my own Victoria babe I have been slowly painstakingly recrafting, and opened her and the new gal up in Morph Manager and saved her with a name like MyVicki, and then transferred her morphs that I had added over. I also noted any changes to sizes, and other things I had done on a bit of paper, then opened up the new gal, took a few moments to reset her to how I had had my other one set. Lastly I backed up, then deleted all Vicki's I am not currently using, save the lastest plain vanilla one out of Zygote (in the update) and the MyVicki. Cleared up tons of space for me :) Hope that helps.

Span, I have sent a message to the creator of the shaders, asking that he or she get with you on working out what is wrong. Let us know how that goes, ok?

Found the little buggar! Ha! It is under the Expand Brain Menu! And there are a few other goodies I never knew where there too! Kill Computer -> Tear the Roof Off -> Blow Bosses Mind -> Get a Life -> Perform Miracle -> Become Prima Donna -> (That one came naturally to me I hear?) Look Good!!! Next thing you know, I'll be a real artist, not an Artiste Posuer Wannabe ;P

Too true in my life at least... Folks either think there is a secret look good button and we can achieve what we do instantly (not realizing they may in fact be asking us to work 48 hours with NO break and no sleep to bail their arses out as in some of the contracts I have gotten called in on in the last moment before something goes live), or they think we are having such great fun and since we were "born" this way, after all, why should they pay?

I believe that almost all of the comments made in the Poser Forum are on the whole very positive. Indeed, at times it becomes simply a mutual admiration society with little real help from those asking for actual help! I have some WIP also that I plan to preview on the poser forum asking suggestions before offering them for sale in the store area. The forum is the best meeting of minds of artists I have seen anywhere. As far as tact, well there is nothing too much one can say for simplicity. Merely state that you plan the project you are showing as something that is going to soon be on sale?

Hihi to all who have plans, hopes, wishes and general thoughts on the new online store! I believe that this will enable artists in this community to finally realize a bit of well earned respect professionally (and a dollar or three) for the many many hours of work that go into some of our creations. Money of course is good, but RESUME credit is BETTER. Sell something and you are able to say so in your next job hunt! I will be working with each of you to help make the store competitive, responsive, secure, and yes, even affordable I hope. I have noticed alot of concern on things to do with credit cards of late, so I thought perhaps we could begin by pointing out that in my experience, most banks also offer a Visa check card. This draws funds off your existing checking account, but works identically to a Visa card as far as ecommerce purchases go. These Visa check cards are free! Go to your bank if you do not have a credit card, but have a checking account, and that will enable you to make online purchases all over the net :) Wishing you all many happy hours of creating, selling, shopping, and bragging on those Resumes! I have wondered the same thing. What if one exported the pertinent body parts into say 3d Studio Max, added in more vertices than even God has, then reimported it back in, and replaced body part with prop?

A very long time ago there was a photoshop plugin that took greyscale images and converted them to DXF height maps. Not alot of good for anyone save landscape modelers. I can't recall its name. Several programs include this functionality now, Animatek Worldbuilder, (I believe Bryce does too), Vistapro (the cheapest of the ones I list) and your high end 3d programs such as 3d studio max can take a greyscale image and create actual geometry through the displacement map feature. Look for something saying it works with DEM data, displacement mapping, etc.

As I said, I would likely regret my outspoken nature before long, and I rather do. I guess my post really should have only said something such as, "when I make a character no matter her or his race, it is a character portrait model, it is not intended to be a one size fits all racial archetype, since I leave that to Zygote who gets paid to do it ;P" I just so would hate to see this place devolve into a place were we nitpick one another to death, on something so minor and really silly as a shade of skin chosen by a portrait character artist. Fair skinned non-white people such as myself must feel just wretched all over the world when they constantly lately hear the opinions that they are not dark enough (maybe therefore not of their race). On the other hand, I know dark skinned people too suffer hurt when they see fair skinned folks glorified by the model industry, hollywood, etc as somehow being "prettier". It is a terribly difficult situation. Do not let racism into this place. Here we are our characters and we are text. We are not any color.

Just wanted to add, this is alot for the 11.00 bucks, since they are including their faerie wing model props that are usable on ANY figure ;P
