The MilDog wolf morph looks more like a german shepard. The old P4 wolf looks more like a wolf, but is a low resolution figure by today's standards.

Thread: Slightly OT: Running Poser On a Laptop | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've even run Poser on a netbook, so a laptop should not be an issue. Screen size is pitiful, so it would have to be hooked up to an external monitor. I haven't rendered anything of significance on it, but it ought to be slow compared to a regular laptop or desktop. The netbook does have a very spacious 160gb hard drive. It's not my computer of choice for doing Poser renders, but it's great for laying out stuff and playing around with Poser content when I'm away from home.

Some more beginner to intermediate tutorials that would be useful:
Adding props to a figure's hand that aren't smartpropped. I tend to build an image by first posing figures and then adding clothing and props. I learned the hard way that it's a lot easier to save the file I'm working on, start a new one, load the default figure, put the prop in the figure's hand, and save it as a smart prop. Then the saved file can be reopened and loading the smartprop will put it in the posed figure's hand. It otherwise takes hours to try to move a prop into a posed figure's hand because of the awkwardness of moving a 3D object in a 2D interface.
Similarly, tutorials on adding hair to characters they weren't designed for; and parenting two hands together (such as for a sword or baseball bat).
Importing 3ds, dxf, lightwave, and obj and dealing with import issues and gimbal lock.

Poser users are visual, so tutorials should focus on effects and how to evolve them.
For example, a tutorial on creating a stone shader needs to show the following types of steps:
Artists aren't interested in the details involved in the math. They're interested in how changes affect their image. It's more work and makes it harder to cover the larger ground that's needed, but it's what artists need.
An example of what not to show in a tutorial would be the BB link
www.castleposer.co.uk/articles/maths_chart.html
This is excellent information for somebody that's getting deep into node math, but the average artist only wants to know how it can be used to enhance an existing material node effect being created.
A tutorial on the render settings, and which should be changed for an optimal image, would be useful. I remember having trouble with atmospherics in an image and it wasn't very straightforward how to achieve the best results.

PoserWorld has one with a V3 Scrubbs outfit. I found a few freebies, but will have to dig up the details to see if they're still available.

I was surprised that GoogleBooks doesn't have the full Muybridge books available for download. Hasn't the copyright lapsed on them and placed them in public domain? They were published in the late 1800s. The one Muybridge book they do have wasn't scanned with enough quality to produce the photographic plates with any clarity.
Interestingly, Muybridge killed his wife's lover and was acquitted on a justifiable homicide.

Thread: How to render farm with Poser Pro(the version after P7) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
From what I remember reading about render farms a whle back is that they were a good way to make use of old computers. It's not necessary to buy all fast machines. I guess it comes down to a question of whether money or speed is the primary concern.

Thread: What is the smart way to load humster's 3ds models into P7 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Another common problem with imported models is that their texture settings are often inappropriate.
If you're seeing bright spots or bright triangles, change the Material Room specular settings to black.
If they're dark spots or triangles, it's probably a reversed normal issue. That's not so easy to fix. Plugging the Alternate Diffuse node into the texture might help with the render, but my memory's a bit vague on the that solution.
