Have you found anything broken in 8.5? Some forum posts I read here say stuff is broken that wasn't broken in version 8, but don't give specifics.

Piracy sucks, but the piracy situation might be getting better. One well known site that had an active community for piracy of DAZ and Poser stuff has been permanently shut down, equipment seized by law enforcement, and the people behind it charged with various crimes and hit with a bunch of lawsuits. Perhaps that will quell the piracy problems for a while.

I would like to try to move this thread back on topic though. Do enough people that use Poser buy Genesis 2 stuff to make it profitable to develop for that platform and sell here? Or is selling here more a V4/M4 affair?

To be honest, I wish Blackhearted would do a Girl/Guy Next Door makeover for the Poser 11 people. I might actually upgrade then.

If a person chooses to support Dawn/Dusk, would they likely make more money selling here or at Hivewire? Ultimately, the decision for which characters to support and where to sell will be largely determined by earning potential.

Having found out that the Project E base figure will be free, I have already decided to support it. It's a no-brainer really. Free, modern figure with integrated genitals compatible with Poser and DAZ Studio? I mean, come on.

Also, the latest Poser I own is Poser Pro 2012. There will be no Rex/Roxie/Paul/Pauline stuff coming from me for some time.

To be clear, I mean what version of FBX does Carrara support for import? For quite a while, Blender only supported import of ascii FBX 6.1, even though it exported bother that and Binary 7.4. I am just trying to make sure that Carrara's import and export versions are the same.

Last I checked, you had to get assets into SFM through the Source SDK, and SFM could only use assets compiled for the Source engine. More information will be available at SFMLab.com. ExP is the system used by the fourth generation to allow the open-ended adding of new morph sets to the figure. It wouldn't usually be needed fro clothing, unless you planned to be able to add additional morph expansion of undetermined nature in future.

I copied mine to the new computer....
I installed DS and told it where the Library folder was gonna live (never on my C drive, cause I'm old and paranoid!) Then I copied all my goodies in to the folder DS created and Everything Worked! I was pleasantly surprised!!!

When it comes to V4, M4, etc. working in either will produce things that work in both, except for material presets and shaders. It comes down to what you are more comfortable working with.

Having said that, there are quite a few major V4 vendors that use DS to do the work you are describing (No I am not going to drop names.) and have been doing it for some time. Doing the work in DS means you can set up EXP morphs and it is easier to set up clothing for M4's shoulders.

What in the world are EXP morphs? Remember, I am just coming back to Poser and just picking up DAZ Studio after not being around this part of the 3d world since Poser 5 came out, so talk to me like I am an idiot.
