Quote - Ego trips, aren't they wonderful? ;)
I must be missing something though, I thought the point was to comment on the images in the gallery but not by a private email or PM? I dont need someone to tell me how to fix my images, this is why I didn't bother. I do art that please me, not someone else. Im not a Poser tech or geek, I don't need someone to write me a five page comment on how to fix my images if you do, then good luck.
I doubt this will last long people's ego's get bruised too easily by the sound of these complaint threads it's already starting to happen.
Yes, you're missing the whole picture.
1) The initiator of this thread is complaining about somebody having sent her message saying her work is 'a waste of space', and that by most people's values, is way too harsh and non-constructive. This complaint is righteous and is supported by the Forum moderator, and definitely not of ego trips.
2) Some people would like to have their works critiqued (in constructive ways, of course), that's why they join the critique group. Nobody is asking somebody else to 'write them a five page comment on how to fix their images' like you mentioned. So you're missing the points and then comment here base on your biased perception of others' messages.
As to how long the critique group will last, I don't know. Even though I'm not in the group, I wish them all the best, and hopefully the group will evolve and improve and last long.
Thread: Installing V6I upgrade means you are no longer allowed to use V5I | Forum: Vue
Quote - Wonder if thats something thats crept into the latest version, cos I didn't get that message and I got my V6i on about November 30 (right on the last day of the first prerelease deadline).
I'm curious about how much it cost for the first prerelease upgrade ( from V5i to V6i ) before November 30, 2006.
Could anybody tell me?

I'm subscribing to a Web hosting service soon, and thank you Joe for letting us know about the JaguarPC issue.
FYI : Stay away from the domain registrar called RegisterFly; they lost so many of their clients' domains by taking domain renewal fees but failing to renew some of them and without any failure notices. Do a Google search on RegisterFly and you can see tons of complaints against that registrar. Some even say Registerfly and eNom conspire to steal away the clients' more valuable domains from the former, as all the stolen domains end up in one of eNom's branch companies. Anyway, do research on the domain registrars or hosting services providers (google them) before subscribing.
Back to Web hosting: The hosting service provider I'm considering is called BlueHost. Judging from my google research, they have a great reputation, but there might be some hidden issues or unhappy customers of them, you never know. So if anybody has used their services or is currently using them, please give me some opinions on BlueHost, I'd appreciate it!
Thank you in advance!

Thread: SF Fan Artists: Don't get ripped off like I did. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
*Quote - "Yes. They told me that they had deleted the threads, and theatened to sue me again if I posted any remarks there again.
I guess my days of posting free meshes are over. Every other time I release one someone does something like this. It's gotten old...."*
MrSparky and Sean, I think you both did a great job letting us know there is an unethical company selling stolen meshes that rip off their customers and may even get them into troubles in the future.
Posting and publishing the misconducts of dishonest business practices are, in many cases, necessary to warn innocent people not to fall victims of those companies and make those companies stop such business frauds.
There are many examples on the world wide Web where public speech forums exert power over fraudulent businesses. Just to show an example:
http://registerflies.com/welcome-to-the-registerfly-gripe-site-4.html
The above link is a Web site/forum devoted to disclose the fraudulent business practices of the once-popular domain registrar called RegisterFly. One of the company's victims decided to make them go public after being ignored many times, and dozens of victims gathered to the forum to tell their misfortunes with RegisterFly to the general public.
Anyway, Sean, you have all of us behind you (maybe except for one or two), and don't be discouraged by the nasty attitude of the es3d guy. What you did is righteous, and I'm thankful to you!

Thread: So Poser 7 is here, and I didn't use Poser 6 not even for a day... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
In this case, you'll stay with P5 forever, as the C4D features (render, lighting, shaders, etc) improve and update with much faster pace than Poser's.
The distance between them will only get bigger as time goes by (unless, if Poser is aquired by a fast-improving company like Maxon.)
Since you also see C4D as a standard for Poser to catch on, a better investment, if you have the money, is to go for Cinema4D + Interposer pro plugin, which lets you morph, pose, light, texture, model, animate and render Poser characters all inside C4D with far better render speed and results.

If it comes down to lawsuit, there is no contest when someone is so clearly in the wrong.
The es3d guy is no O.J. Simpson, so even Shapiro cannot win the case for him.
Thread: Bryce 6 vs Vue 5 or Vue 6 | Forum: Bryce
I'm totally new to Vue 6 (haven't owned it yet).
I wonder if Vue 6 render much faster than Bryce 6 (or 5.5) on the same scene?

Joey, thank you for the info. Yes, the cool spaceship will be on my 'to-buy' list. Also, I'm quite attracted to the space helmet you used in the wonderful pic. Could you tell me where I can find the helmet?
Thanks!

Thank you all for the input! I think I'll go for WW now, although it'll take another two months before I actually buy it (as I have $30 budget limit per month on Poser stuff).
Also, JOELGLAINE (Joey Pen), very nice picture! Where can I find the cool R-lina spacesuit?
Thanks again!

The weird, inorganic muscular morphs I'm talking about is actually another product called: "G2 Male: Ultimate Body Morphs" sold at CP.
Attached links: http://www.contentparadise.com/us/user/g2_male_ultimate_body_morphs_product_22257
while the villainous G2 Koji faces are also of another product called: "Koji G2 - Ultimate Head Morphs"

which should be renamed as: "Koji G2 - Villainous Head Morphs Pack"
Thread: How to make Character and Face INJ and REM files for injection of morphs? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks Mizrael ! I forgot to re-check the "with External Morph Targets" check box, which (now I realize) caused the problems.
Previously, I had it unchecked to make the saved files usable by earlier Poser versions.
Thanks again!

BTW, the base figure I tried on was P6 James Hi-res with FBM -- I used Random Face feature in the Face Room plus some tweeks of my own to generate some face morphs, then saved them into the library, and when I clicked on the newly saved morphs trying to apply them to the base P6 James Hi-res with FBM, nothing changed.

Thanks Fazzel! But I did say Poser 6 at the end of the first paragraph above
Strange thing is that when I clicked on the thumbnails of the morphs that I just added to the library, the morphs don't apply to the base figure of the same type -- nothing happened.
I wonder what went wrong. . .

I'm surprised to know that quite a few people actually bought G2. The ad images of G2 at ContentParadise show some weird, inorganic looks of their muscular morphs (on the Afro male's lats, shoulders and chest, to be exact). Plus, the Koji G2 version features limited variety of face morphs that mostly look like Asian villains -- there are much better-looking Asian male morphs that could have been made.
And yes, the original James looks better than G2 James.
BTW, M3 still has the inorganic looks around the shoulder and armpit area.
I find that David3 (with its morph packs) and Michael 2 are the two most realistic-looking capable Poser male figures. They have inorganic-looking parts or jagged joint areas only in extreme poses.
