Thread: Very bad idea to remove "upload date" for product | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Just my 2c as a buyer, I used to like seeing the upload date, but I'd buy older products too. Sometimes I'd buy older products and tell myself I was probably saving myself money, because its $15 and when new it might have been $20. More than that though, I used it to check for new products, I'd browse for products over the last week to see what was there since I last spent a good while looking. I'd like to see the feature come back, but I'll still buy older stuff.

Thread: New Product Pending? | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Thanks Debbie and Clint! That sets my mind at ease. You know I was a merchant. I guess my first product expired and I was removed when it was.
Thread: Rather bizarre purchase experience today! | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
I think when you add a coupon or apply in store credit, it renews that page with the new numbers on (less to pay at the bottom). If the coupon/credit completely covers it, you'll get a bill for $0 to pay, but you have to go through that part anyway.
I was a little confused the first time but it seems ok now.
Hope this helps.
Corum.

Thread: Dont understand a thing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
I'm not sure how you're going to sort them. I understand that right now it might be lumping all the products with 5 star ratings together and showing them first in whatever order they show up in, thats cool for now. It sounds like you're going to sort the rating numbers and show the top product as the one with the numerically highest number of 5 star ratings, ignoring lower ratings, until all the 5 star rated ones are shown, then do 4 etc. Of course this keeps the most popular products at the top of the list, but doesn't it also give the older products an advantage too? Suppose 1000 people buy "Green Texture for Daz Frog" and they all rate it 5 stars. Suppose after that, everyone else rates it 0, or nobody else buys it and the market declines a bit, and no other products get 1000 five star ratings for the next year. "Green Texture for Daz Frog" would remain #1 in Whats Hot right until it was moved to the warehouse. The other thing I'm not sure about, is what if something has more 5 star ratings, but the average rating is lower? See this list as an example: "Green Texture for Daz Frog": 5 5 5 4 3 2 2 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 "Sitting Pose for P4 Cat": 5 4 4 3 3 2 "100 new grey backgrounds": 5 4 4 4 So.. whats the "hottest" product? Of course the Frog wins, but see, half the people who bought it didn't like it. Not trying to make new problems, I started by trying to clarify the system for 2be, but then I realised I didn't understand it, so I made some examples and I don't know how you're going to judge it. In practice I'm sure it'll work great, and the Whats Hot list will have stunning stuff in it. I'm just very good at logic and I can see where something might go wrong. Its a cool feature and so long as the Whats Hot shows products that a lot of people liked, it'll work. I still hope you keep working on the normal search. I'd love to be able to list what base products I own in my profile, and when I search, have a tickbox that let me choose to filter out anything I can't use out of the box. I spent all day yesterday going through every page of Vicky3 stuff, obviously most of it is textures for stuff I don't have etc. Take Care, Corum.
Thread: Shiny+Transparency in Poser 4 - possible? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Fish - wish it was that easy ;o) Thanks for the replies, I was hoping to just use Daz's Catsuit on Vicky3, but those options aren't going to work together. I have two other options though, they just require me to do more stuff manually: 1) Render each picture twice and composite them to copy the shiny costume onto the render with non-shiny skin. 2) Look at Daz's transmaps etc and make sure the black is 100% black and apply it to all the channels (bump etc) so that the grainy effect isn't trying to show on the hidden bits. Actually, both of these might be workable. Daz's Catsuit is very flexible, but I don't need to change it all the time like transformers. I like short sleeves and a V neck is all. So I could hack the files so they don't try to bumpmap outside of those parts, etc, then save my version for my own use. Or I could render each pic twice, seems silly but still much faster than a firefly p6 render, and composite them, which after a few times will only take a couple of minutes. For a great render, thats worth doing. Thanks again for the responses! Take Care, Corum.

Ok I can hide body parts like arms, but the transmapped parts still go plastic. I tried reloading it and hiding off the parts before applying a shiny mat. Same problem. I wish CL had one line of code that said transparency 1-99=normal, 100%=ignore highlights. Anyway just hoping someone out there is super clever and can solve this.

Thread: A thing about hair -- Question from Dodger | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Again, upside down hair. Or specific morphs like Lara Croft hair.. but.. make them easy to use, like characters (good ones) have one dial that says "Victoria 2" and you set it to 0 or 1. 1) Upside down / blown hair. I know everyone wants a ton of morphs - windblown left, windblown right, etc, but I don't think people wanna spend hours posing hair. Either a few settings for presets (easier to test, too), or a 'handle' to let you drag the end of the hair whichever way you want. Ideal for someone lying down, drag hair a bit randomly. 2) "Superman" hair etc. Yes, people will buy niche market hair that does something unique. But why limit it? Make hair called "American Trendy Male Hair" and make it look ordinary, then make one morph for it to make it have that curl etc and call the morph "Superman". You'd do well doing that, and it would be easy to use. Good luck, and thanks for asking.
Thread: Wishlist??? | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Love that feature. Just discovered it now. I'm just loading my cart as a result of finding out one of my wishlist items was on sale.

Thanks Clint! Thats nice to know! I might start using Vicky 3 sometime, its just I prefer using Vicky 2 and I don't like Morph Injections. It looks like all the best vendors like Batlabs and Baron.V.H. have stopped selling Vicky2 content (don't know why) so when I've used all my V2 things I guess its time to upgrade. Thanks again for the great response. Corum.
