This tutorial explains morph targets and Carrara for Poser usage. You probably did not put a tic on Export Objects in Local Coordinates when you created the MT. As for the textures, I'll let someone else tackle that. Poser is a very iffy product with more work-arounds than an employee trying to not do his job.I am a very unique person... Thread: What are 'nulls' and how are they used? | Forum: Carrara
Null Main Entry: null
Pronunciation: 'n&l
Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle French nul, literally, not any, from Latin nullus, from ne- not + ullus any; akin to Latin unus one -- more at NO, ONE
Date: circa 1567
1 : having no legal or binding force : INVALID
2 : amounting to nothing : NIL
3 : having no value : INSIGNIFICANT
4 a : having no elements b : having zero as a limit c of a matrix : having all elements equal to zero
5 a : indicating usually by a zero reading on a scale when a given quantity (as current or voltage) is zero or when two quantities are equal -- used of an instrument b : being or relating to a method of measurement in which an unknown quantity (as of electric current) is compared with a known quantity of the same kind and found equal by a null detector
6 : of, being, or relating to zero
7 : ZERO
It means nothing to me otherwise.

I don't have a clue what these frenchmen are ever trying to convey in their manuals.

Thread: 5.5 anywhere out there? | Forum: Carrara
I have the original 2 CDs for Ray Dream Studio5.5 with the manual and there's another CD here called training pack1 for RD5 (not sure what that's for) This was for installation on a PC. I "think" the serial number also installs onto a Mac, but I won't vouche for that. So regard this as a PC offer, unless you know otherwise. I don't use this program and don't forsee ever needing to use it, so I'd be happy to sell. Send me an instant message and we will see if we can work out the details and price (make me an offer). Hopefully you are in the US.

Thread: Modeling a rolled=up sleeping bag... | Forum: Carrara
Would make a nice Cinnamon roll on a coffee table with the correct proportions. (A hint for those wanting to make more simple things for scene elements) Too bad shapes are apparently static in 2D space. To be able to move the vertices off their singular planes would be desireable. (Take the abrupt end of the roll for example. To be able to tug some of those vertices out would be nice.) good luck Kelly

Change to Spiral;
Turns=5
Length = 0
Dist axis =3.5
Scale 100
Scale 0
Then Create multiple sections = 45
Edit the handles to create folds.
It can get a bit troubling selecting handles and sections. Carraras modeler is a bit limited with inability to lock items and change bezier handle colors etc.

As far as your "can't use booleans... greyed out" goes... Sounds to me like you either; Are in the main assembly room and are attempting to boolean and only have selected ONE object or perhaps you have selected a grouped object. Create a scene with 2 spheres and have them intersect. Using CTRL, select both spheres and then you will see the boolean choices are available. Or; You are in the vertex modeling room and are trying to do a boolean subtract, and boolean subtract is 'greyed' out. You need to SELECT ALL in the vertex modeling room and then hold CTRL + ALT... while holding CTRL + ALT click on a vertice of the object which you wish to REMAIN, it will then turn yellow(the vertice).... You will now find that boolean subtract is not greyed out anymore. ****** A word about booleans..... Don't use them if you don't have to.

Thread: How to make ridges in the can for the label tutorial by litst ? | Forum: Carrara
Apx setting sfor bump channel;
Bump channel =
MIXER
source 1 = Wires with H' count "0" V' count 2
Width = "0" height = 60
source 2 = empty(none)
Blender = scan lines count 60 horizontal
This could also be modeled using spline. It could also be modeled using a spline and linear wave function with limits set to 20-80.

Thread: Question about C2 Terrain Modeler | Forum: Carrara
Is it not found under your INSERT menu at the top of the screen ? (Alternately in the dropdown containing FIRE) This is where it is in C1. I dont' have C2 so I don't know if they kept it there. I would like to know if it still has that annoying SPIN feature and useless FLYOVER feature.
