Quote - To change the color (using a color picker), it's a little bit more complicated... You're working in PoserPro 7 (NOT PoserPro 2010) - right ?
Correct, PoserPro7
Quote - The problem you had (with my little code) is that you must replace the '_____' by spaces (or a tabulation). I'll make a little later today a color picker, if it's still needed.
Wonderful, that would help me so much! Thank you!

solved the error changed
if img == myimgnam:
to
if img == myimgname:
but it pretty much just listed the texture file locations
Quote - here is one that looks for an image map name and replaces it , might not be quite what you want.
sorry for the name error , O am not at my poser machine so I am working from memory.
searches tree for all materials in figure and replaces named file with new file name
save as material collection to save running script again
import poser
file name used
myimgname = "c:/program files/e frontier/poser7/runtime/textures/oldimgname.jpg"
new file name to be used
newimgname = "c:/program files/e frontier/poser7/runtime/textures/newimgname.jpg"
scn = poser.Scene()
fig = scn.CurrentFigure()
mats = fig.Materials()
for mat in mats:
print mat.Name()
tree = mat.ShaderTree()
nods = tree.Nodes()
for nod in nods:
if nod.Type() == poser.kNodeTypeCodeIMAGEMAP:
img = nod.Input(0).Value()
print img
if img == myimgnam:
nod.input(0).SetString(newimgname)
tree.UpdatePreview
scn.DrawAll()

This by markschum worked, but had to change Specular_Value to Highlight_Color
Now, the problem, I may be changing the spec color for 40+ intances, so,
any way to make the color picker pop up to choose the color?
I have a mat that I apply to the preview that has the colors I need and I choose from there
Quote - So you want a different image map for the diffuse and change specular color to a new RGB value ?
Thats not too difficult. I should have one somewhere in my zips .
Here is one offhand that you can copy and paste to set specular color
import poser
scn = poser.Scene()
fig = scn.CurrentFigure()
mats = fig.Materials()
if mats:
print fig.Name()
for mat in mats:
tree=mat.ShaderTree()
n = tree.NodeByInternalName("PoserSurface")
if n:
i = n.InputByInternalName("Specular_Value")
if i:
i.SetColor(0.5,0.5,0.5) # replace with rgb values
tree.UpdatePreview()
scn.DrawAll()

Quote - Concerning the textures, it depends what you want to do exactly. If it's changing on texture filename to another, then it's easy.
Yes, exactly- to change the texture filename to another (for all the materials)
Thanks!

Aw, Connie BriBri is so cute! She is sure one lucky little girl! I'm sure you will have her spoiled rotten with love in no time. :)
Speaking of strays, that's where I got my three babies from.
Last year, we had a beautiful longhair dilute tortie female start to hang around the house, wasn't sure then if she had a home or not but I fed her anyway cause she was so sweet and the kids loved her. Around this time last year (my babies were a year old last week) I was sitting on my back step smoking late one evening, talking on the phone w/my sister. Bunny (my husband named her that, but that's another story) started yeowling and making a huge fuss, and I noticed she was leaking fluid. We had no clue she was pregant! After I figured out what was going on, she ended up having 4 babies right there in a bed I made her. We eventually brought them all in the house because we were afraid a wild animal might get to them outside. Around the time the babies were weaning, Bunny made a huge fuss day and night, howling and such. She wanted back out! Eventually we let her out to stay, and she hasn't come back around too much since. We figured she must have had a home, but just came to have an extended vacation while dropping off a few gifts lol. We had decided to keep 3 of the babies and found a home for the other.
What is really funny, I had been BEGGING my husband to get a pet, and he always refused. But, when he saw the newborn kittens, he right away choose one for himself.

Thread: Stripes Shader? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ohhh yeah, those are awesome! I love stripes!!
Quote - You guys inspired me to do another free shader pack. I decided to make very feature-rich stripe shaders that are very easy for you to configure. The math is pretty tricky on some of these.
You'll be able to make any of thousands of variations in minutes.
Here's a teaser. (Click for full size) I've included a few Holiday themed ones since Christmas is coming.
I'll let you know when it's ready.

I haven't been able to find much more about it myself.

Quote - MaskimXul, what platform are you on? Mac or Windows?
Windows, Running Vista.
I dug around and figured it out. I think.
In C:UsersUSERAppDataRoaming I found the two folders that Tyger_purr mentioned,
the newly created one, and the old one.
JIC I messed up, I copied the new one elsewhere.
I copied the info from the old to the new, seems to be running ok..

Quote - Please only select 'Remove existing preference files' or 'Backup existing preference files' during updater installation if you intend to do that. Yes, those options will return Poser to the factory state, including the runtime library setup.
If you want to continue with your current preferences, please choose 'Use existing preference files' instead.
Crap! I chose 'Backup existing preference files'. Any way to restore it?

My serial wouldn't go thru either... I have P7 SE Boxed ordered from CP.
I emailed tech support (techsupport@smithmicro.com) as suggested and got a download link promptly.

Thanks - your render looks very good. Am I wrong, or are you missing shadows there? Looks like it would be even better with shadows on the body/arms.
On the left image, no shadows. The right one does have them; they are set on a front light and I think I have the settings really low. If his head was bent down more, or arms crossed, it might be more visible.

This is a great tool, had no problems installing/running it. This is just a click & go render. I really like the results. Rendered in Poser 7.
