Quote - Oh, I see. Didn't realize flat mapping was a top shader option. Still, even with that you have to add a flat-mapping channel to each subset on the tree.
Layers list works just the same though. I don't think there really is a right or wrong way, as long as the end result is what you're wanting.
Thanks....

Ok, I'm using a primitive in this example but I guess I'm not too familiar with adding textures to more than one side of an object, I did use the flat mapping to do the front of the cube as seen in the picture, but I just couldn't get the top and sides. Exactly what are the steps to be taken in order to achieve this? I'll try and see if I can do it with a vertex object as well.

I thought that it could be used this way since it is one of the options in the drop down box, it even asked to makes sure of the correct frame rate .

Quote - Very strange... works fine in Vista 32bits... maybe more problem with 64 OS
I wrote Daz about the problem, I have a laptop with XP Pro with Carrara 6 Pro installed and did this with no problem and also did it with Carrara 5.1 Pro. This particular machine won't take XP 64 for some reason. I have another machine with XP 64 with Carrara 5.1 Pro and it works just fine, this one has a P4 processor.

Quote - Are you trying to reset the hot point on an object with bones? It won't work in that case.
No the object in question is an automobile, and I'm just trying to change the pivot point, I've done it before in Carrara 6 Pro and now all of a sudden it doesn't work any more, again it works fine in Carrara 5 Pro. I am using Vista 64 on a Dell XPS Quad and unfortunately I can't put XP 64 on this computer XP is much better at handling files than Vista 64.

Quote - I don't have an answer for that. Have you tried moving the hot point from the Quad view instead of just the Directors Camera view?
When goofy things start happening, it's usually a good idea to reset the Carrara Preferences (File > Reset Preferences).
I reset the Preferences and it still does the same thing I also have Carrara 5 Pro and it works just fine I can move the hot point with no problem at all. Anyone else have this problem?

Quote - If you grab the object while the Caps Lock is on, you can still move it. However, if you grab the axis arrows while the Caps Lock is on instead, only the Hot Point should move.
For some unexplainably reason this is not working. I grab only the axis arrows and the object still moves along with the hot point. At one point in time it did work this way but now it doesn't. I even restart Carrara 6 Pro and it doesn't help. Is there something in the motions property tab that should be changed also?

Quote - No problem. Thanks for firing up my brain ;)
Another trick that could be useful for animation, that I know will work in Poser because I have used it to make props make world rotations whether they want to or not, is to parent an object to an invisible primitive such as a ball. A figure can be parented under the Figures menu.
This would probably be more elegant than moving the center point, as you would still have the original when you needed it. Translating the car while rotating the ball might be easier. Don't know. This would still be a one-shot deal, as trying to move the ball to the other side would just move the car, and you can't change parent during an animation. Useful for a lot of things, though.

Ok, I'm going to work on this one too..
