LD, I think what they want is server space for animations. It's not an unreasonable request. Although animations are usually much larger (in MB) than still images, so few clients will upload them that it probably wouldn't make a serious dent in server capacity.

The others are quite right, Larry. If you allow clients to view your image, you must allow them to download it first. But you may specify how they use it after they download it, e.g. "not for use as desktop picture" or "not for resale or inclusion in commercial CD".
Thread: Newbie question - create geodesic dome? | Forum: Carrara
Attached Link: http://peda.com/polypro/
I found a software called Polypro, which generates figures like the above for 100 or more polyhedra, including several frequencies and types of geodesic domes. It can generate right circular cylinders of varying diameters to replace the edges, and it can generate spheres of varying diameters to replace the vertices. It's a bit tricky trying to get the output into Carrara, but I think Polypro has the potential to be very useful.Thread: Newbie question - create geodesic dome? | Forum: Carrara

That's an interesting point about unlawfully invading privacy. I checked the U.S. Constitution, but I couldn't find any right to privacy in it. I don't admire the RIAA for targeting naive Kazaa, Morpheus or Limewire users, but those users shouldn't try to use a desire for privacy as a cover for piracy.

Nice work on the Shubster. But don't do Cthulhu, if you value your sanity. The last thing you want is for Cthulhu's minions to show up at your door at midnight, right after you release the Cthulhu.cr2 file!

10.2.8 update recently? If so, you may have to revert to an earlier version. Otherwise, try Diskwarrior 3.

I'm not sure he's a Liftan clone. He only used one underscore, and the message had no anti-Zionist dogma - just something about paying members getting more rights than others, and some kind of appeal system to drag out the banning process (which is usually same-day service for Liftan clones). Maybe they have some way of checking for Liftan clones other than the underscores.
Thread: Poser Figure Headremoval/Resolutionincrease Tutorial | Forum: Carrara
I don't know how to increase the mesh resolution in RDS, but in Carrara you select all polygons (or just those you want to subdivide) and hit "Multi-res subdivide". Then you export as obj file to UVMapper and use planar mapping. The trick there is to reproduce the edge-polygon-stretching that Zygote or Daz used for the original mapping, or the texture will be applied in a grossly distorted manner in some areas. That is something UVMapper doesn't do by default, and the Mac OS version can't do it at all - it can only do the default (perspective mapping), where all the edge polygons are shrunk in the perspective direction. So I'm hoping Steve will be able to produce a Mac version of UVMapper Pro.

It would make a better render, but the original texture template would not fit anymore, and none of the morphs would work, so I would advise against doing it.

What I was hoping was that they would do a good greyscale G-buffer d.o.f. alpha channel (mask) through which we could apply blur (and other filters) in Photoshop.

UVMapper smooths edges, unless you use the "Split Vertices" command before exporting (doesn't work in Mac OS version, so I usually have to skip UVMapper and map it in Carrara instead).
