Go into the material room. Hit the edit tab. Right click on the Materials pallet. Go to new node>2d textures>image map

Now click on where the new node says none and hit browse on the new popup. Navigate to where you have your sign saved. Select it and hit open.

Now drag from that dot next to the word color to the dot next to the diffuse color on the poser surface to "plug" the node into that slot. It's also recommended to change the diffuse value to about .85.

The width x height of the JPG image might cause some issues when it is previewed in the scene.  You will need to match the X- and Y- scale of the square to the image and then scale the square to the right size of the figures.

Even easier Drag n' drop the JPG (PNG, TIF, whatever) onto the material edit window. Poser will auto-create the node. All you need to do is plug it in. Done.

P.S. Use the "One Sided Square" prop for making billboards.

For some reason, P13 and Win 11 do not allow drag & drop anymore.

Never mind, I figured out the problem.
