Subject: bye, everyone

I too am leaving, as Jack has been dealing in an underhanded manner with a lot of people. If you don't mind getting screwed by a weasel, feel free to stay on here.

Thorne ( ) posted Sun, 16 January 2000 at 5:45 PM

In what way has he been dealing underhanded? Give us specific examples, not general accusations, which convince no one of anything and only serve to continue the hostile feelings. If there is something specific you have to report, by all means let us know. Otherwise, don't let the door hit you..

Sorry to see you go Telezine, don't always believe what you hear or read, check it out for yourself... the Truth IS out there and I promise you, the truth will be made known in the near future. Jack

Human conditioning... saw it when I was in the service, they don't know better, best not to fault them. Jack

Stormrage ( ) posted Sun, 16 January 2000 at 6:08 PM

shaking my head I really don't understand why so many people choose to believe everything willow or ian writes..Sighing Blush... clicked the wrong link..

viper ( ) posted Sun, 16 January 2000 at 7:12 PM

Havent we been through this before. Its a shame to se the PFO go but times change, I think this site has grown for the better since the the umm... takeover or what ever you want to call it. I deal with the internet a lot so I know the cost of running a major site like this, so I have know problem if Jack is makeing a little money off of it. I just hope this site continues to grow even more.

Greywolf Starkiller ( ) posted Sun, 16 January 2000 at 7:51 PM

"shaking my head I really don't understand why so many people choose to believe everything willow or ian writes..Sighing" Storm, it's just that very condescending attitude that gets me POed. Why should I believe you or Jack either? Jack's statement about conditioning is the same kind of thing. Believe us, or you're brainwashed. I'm sorry folks, but that doesn't WASH. I like both forums, though I leaned heavily in the PFO's direction. However, if this kind of arrogant attitude is going to be the norm, then I'm gone too. I simply HATE arrogance. We get enough of it from our politicians, we don't need it here. Someone went too far, and I'm not entirely sure it was Willow or Ian. Greywolf

Stormrage ( ) posted Sun, 16 January 2000 at 8:11 PM

Gods Greywolf.. calm your jets.. i never said you had to believe me. Believe what you will. my post was a rhetorical question Not an arrogant one. I am done arguing about the PFO. I told willow a year or so ago if she didn't calm down she'd lose her site.... Hate to see that I was right but i did warn her. Storm The troll.

Greywolf Starkiller ( ) posted Sun, 16 January 2000 at 8:22 PM

Sorry to blow my cool, Storm, but I lost a valuable resource. I have both Poser and Bryce, though I use Bryce more. The Bryce group here is DEAD compared to the one at the PFO. I liked the comments and help I got there, which, I hate to say, I rarely get here. The Poser forum offers lots of help and comments, but it's Bryce I'm learning at the moment. :) Greywolf (who's jets just ran out of fuel)

Legume ( ) posted Sun, 16 January 2000 at 8:29 PM

I have but one question; How many people here have actually BEEN screwed by a weasel? Why knock it? It might be nice...all that soft fur. It's this kind of anti-weasel hatred that's destroying the morals of this great country, America. I'm pro-weasel, and I vote!

Stormrage ( ) posted Sun, 16 January 2000 at 8:39 PM

LOL Legume Greywolf.. i know what you mean And I agree They did have a great Bryce group.. And I know that right now everyone is sensative.. but please know that I am not someone who is arrogant.. Damn you are lucky if you see me proud of something.. but I am never arrogant Soft smile peace?

Greywolf Starkiller ( ) posted Sun, 16 January 2000 at 8:50 PM

sheepish grin peace. Yeah, everyone is rather hot at the moment. Despite the feud, I enjoyed both forums immensely, and in situations like this, it's the users who ultimately lose out. Still, hopefully things will work out all around. Not probable, but not impossible either. :) Greywolf (you have a lovely smile, BTW) :)

Vazdru ( ) posted Sun, 16 January 2000 at 9:18 PM

HEY!! I have ferrets, and Ferrets don't bite unless they have been taught incorrectly!!! Cute n cuddly balls of fur, they are. I had a biter, and taught her gently.. no more biting. Anyway.. onto topic. I went there, I really really liked it, and I am sad for how it turned out. I have been in such a situation on another site, was an admin for a HUGE friggin site that had ONE person who founded and funded it. I am just now, over a year later, coming back to the web after that BS and have NO patience anymore...so I am staying out of it aside from saying I have been there. I have only been around for a very short time, but all the symptoms are the same, so I feel for them, and I feel for you. I'll be here for downloads, but I normally don't post anywhere anyway, so don't be offended if I don't ask for help or advice.. I like to stick it out alone. Anyway.. had to put my 2 cents in regarding the ferrets. snuggles Lydia, Pandora, Floyd and Neitche to her and gets ferret kisses Batine

Legume ( ) posted Sun, 16 January 2000 at 9:24 PM

Allie, you gotta PET the weasels first.

KenS ( ) posted Sun, 16 January 2000 at 9:31 PM

Greywolf, what some things youd like to see in our Bryce Forum? Besides more traffic that is(that will come on its own)Im very open to any suggestions from you or any other Brycers out there. FastTraxx

Legume ( ) posted Sun, 16 January 2000 at 9:33 PM

Yeah, plus the Bryce Forum just gained a new member, former MetaCreations employee and Bryce engineer Ken Musgrave!

Legume ( ) posted Sun, 16 January 2000 at 9:36 PM

Ken Musgrave, by the way is a fellow weaselphile...he's got quick hands, and he's caught me MANY a weasel when I was too drunk to catch them myself. Of course, he always gave me the UGLY ones!

Greywolf Starkiller ( ) posted Sun, 16 January 2000 at 10:50 PM

Oh lord, a weasel lover! What IS the word coming to? Maybe America really IS doomed. ROTFLMAO :) FT, I think, perhaps, that many experienced Brycers were mainly PFO members. I've recently tried my hand at complex boolean modeling in Bryce, as you've seen. There seems to be little of that here. Boolean modeling was a big thing on the PFO Bryce forum. I'm hoping some of the Bryce owners here will start to dabble in that part of Bryce. Basically, other than you and Spike, no one else seems to know the answer when I pose a question. The main focus of the members here seems to be Poser. It was the same on the PFO, but the proportion of Bryce users, judging from the posts, was greater. Perhaps, in time, it will be here too. Maybe I should try doing a tutorial on how I did my battlecruisers. That should wake them up! :) Greywolf

KenS ( ) posted Sun, 16 January 2000 at 11:01 PM

That would be wonderful if you would. I know when I was the Admin for the Bryce Forum at the PFO we started out slow theyre too, but with input from the local users, and any newcomers that happen our way, This forum can be just as happening as the other place, or any other forum for bryce that is out there(Delphi, Image Talk, etc.), From what Ive seen, We have a handfull of seaseond Bryce Artists, and alot of newcomers, hopefuly us old guys can bring in visitors and new members from some of our other posting places, and these new guys can bring in their friends and we can all grow from it. picnic ( ) posted Sun, 16 January 2000 at 11:30 PM

Well, I started in Bryce and moved to Poser. I LOVE boolean modeling but you guys build sci fi stuff and I build furniture and rooms and silver ware and stuff LOLOL. I'm not a 'seasoned' Brycer and have to admit that if you don't keep your hand in it all the time, it slips away. I've spent the last several months trying to get a handle on Poser, but I'll start frequenting the Bryce forum instead. Frankly, I don't know why either the PFO or this forum doesn't have more Bryce traffic--the Delphi forum is a royal pain, as I've said before (not the folks--the interface). Also--the Bryce forum over there just fairly recently has gotten busier--when I stopped posting it really wasn't very busy either. I think probably Lady Aphoenix may have helped (altho' I admit I haven't read it for several months so am not even sure if she's still in charge). Diane B

picnic ( ) posted Sun, 16 January 2000 at 11:36 PM

Hey FT, didn't mean to imply that YOU didn't do a good job, but it was 'empty' for awhile and then LA took over. I think a forum has to have a moderator that's enthusiastic. And I agree-Spike is extremely helpful--he's the one that showed me how to select piece by piece, if you know what I mean--cntrl/click! Also--there was a Mike K, I believe, that was really helpful here this past summer, but I haven't seen him either recently. And--then there is FT himself. He sure made me feel dumb yesterday (LOL--'how do you open a .br2 file--DUH?!?). I think the Bryce forum will grow--its just that there are quite a few places to post Bryce work--and then there is the Bryce ng which is very well read and supported. Diane B

WarriorDL ( ) posted Sun, 16 January 2000 at 11:36 PM

Hey picnic, even our starships still need chairs and conference tables, etc. Sci Fi style art isn't really all that different than your fictional art or non-fictional art :o) I invite you to come on over. The link is to the right there. Jack added it earlier today. Come see what can be done with Bryce, and other programs. Might learn something new, and you might be able to teach us something. Be fun either way :o)

Greywolf Starkiller ( ) posted Sun, 16 January 2000 at 11:52 PM

Heh, maybe after I'm done everything, I'll be brave enough to try mesh modeling (shudder). It looks so intimidating! :) FT, is there a way to do screen captures of the Bryce interface? I have a PC using Windoze 95. The tutorial will take a while since they're BIG ships, but I'll need to do screen caps for it, and you're the expert! :) Greywolf PS- Picnic, if it wasn't for YOUR booleans, what would my sailors SIT on?! I know! Square primitives! LOL

KenS ( ) posted Mon, 17 January 2000 at 1:07 AM

sure is, there's a shareware application called snapshot32 which does great snapshots and gives plenty of options to do em with, or you can always use the ol Print Scrn key on your keyboard and then paste them into a new image in whatever image editing application you use, and Deb, I didnt take your comment incorrectly. There was a reason Neal and my presence wasnt seen that much over there when we were there.
