Lucky me!!   I made his list of  "exceptions."  Why I'm not sure

Karen, I feel for you :)  I'm not really sure what he feels he's gaining by doing this. But unfortunately some people (both men and women) sometimes revert to childish tactics during a breakup. I've never really understood that.  I used to work as a paralegal and dealt with many divorces, and I can attest to the fact that there are many bitter people out there that try to stick it to their ex-spouse.

Karen, I'm glad to see that you are trying to handle this in a mature way and do what is best for your son, instead of taking the low road.

LOL That's not necessary either. He's doing all the damage to himself, all by himself. I'm sorry for Karen, but actually I'm mostly amused at the git. If he think he'll gain support here.. well it just shows his sense of judgement...

And that has nothing to do with attacking anyone. That's just stating facts L

i was the other "exception" Acadia, still curious why, but don't want to stir things for Karen.

can't remember their full title (type of lawyer/barrister), but it is starting to sound like "family court" matter might be needed, to settle a contact order, with regards to your son. as far as i am aware, all legal advice is free for the first half hour. But you will want to find a lawyer that specializes in family court proceedings. Good luck Karen, hope it all smoothes out in the end.

Acadia ( ) posted Tue, 26 September 2006 at 2:41 PM · edited Tue, 26 September 2006 at 2:42 PM

Where I live you don't need a lawyer to get a restraining order, you can do it on your own by going to the Law Courts Building, filling out some forms, paying a filing fee and then appearing in court on the date given to you to present your case.

Karen, call the police. In the US, he would be arrested for stalking. Can't Rosity ban him???

RawArt ( ) posted Tue, 26 September 2006 at 5:35 PM

Apart from the ridiculousness of this whole situation....if you do want to keep having access to your stepson, make sure it is all spelled out legally, and dont rely on good will.

My ex assured me I would always have access to my daughter, and even though I have all the legal court documents assuring me acces, I still havnt seen my daughter in 4 years :(

(because she is now 16 and the police cannot "force" her to go against her mothers wishes shrug)

Divorce is never fun....just make sure you keep yourself covered.

Rainfeather ( ) posted Tue, 26 September 2006 at 8:15 PM

you know one thing that really frustrates me is the fact that when a couple divorce, they get selfish. fortunately enough for me, my ex-husband and i agreed that once divorce, it is not about us anymore but our two daughters. he and i work hard on each end to give both of them the love, the emotional security and  two good homes for my daughters to call theirs. it is not about you nor is it about this man...it is about the step son. you are going about it the right way karen, his demeanor sure doesn't say much about his character except for the fact that he is an arse. pity the kid is not your real son hon. i will be rooting for you and hope that he will see the light someday soon and figure out that through all these, the son is there watching and when he's old enough to finally find his voice to tell him just how stupid his dad is - he will.

ok..who pulled the stake out of the heart of this thread?..;)

amicable divorce fits somewhere between 'military intelligence', and 'civil war'..

And as for the IP bit, heck, Machiavelli says 'never do your enemy a small injury'..

Politicians say, 'if your opponent is digging himself into a hole, best stand back, say nothing, and enjoy the show..

Man, as one divorced guy to another, give it up. Been there, didn't do me any good either.

Content Advisory! This message contains nudity, profanity, violence

Yeah, I'm looking into a possible case for restraining order, but I can't get legal aid since I work hard and long hours, and he of course will get legal aid since he doesn't work. I'm saving my money towards funding my case for a contact order with my stepson instead as that's more of a concern.

 Renderosity wins over STEP SON Now how sad is that?  Tell them karen1573 how you was on your pc for these dick heads 24/7 with no care or thought for your STEP SON? But I guess thats beyond you to tell the truth.

if the police were to be called in to investigate a case of stalking and harrasment, and upon visiting the house of the accused, were to find someone drunk and in charge of a minor, then social services would be called in also. If with the charge of harrasment and stalking, and drunk whilst in charge of a minor, social services may choose to take that person to court under the mental health act, and neglect of a minor, with a view to removing the minor from that persons care, there would be no court costs to Karen as it would be social services Vs neglectfull parent, karen could then come forward as a candidate for custodial guardianship of minor, as an alternative to foster care.

just my two pence!!

I'd donate :)  I'm sure others would who could as well.  That idea needs some serious consideration.

Might I suggest to Renderosity to enforce admin approval for new users? Would end this senseless crap from this person. As well it would provide Renderosity with proof of his actions as the emails he sends and different email addresses he uses to try to join can be used to show his ISP if further action needs to be taken.

I loved the comments about the Inland Revenue and Customs and Excise.  No we don't charge VAT as vendors through Bondware and you know what we can't charge VAT unless our total PER ANNUM takings are over a certain level, I want to say £100k but I'm not sure.  Also, as far as the tax office is concerned very few of us would be liable for taxable because every time we spend money on something connected with creating items we sell through the RMP it is TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Can't speak for other vendors of course but I would be very surprised if anyone here earns enough, per annum to charge VAT and that isn't actually deep into the red when you take all your purchases off the sales figure.  Nice try but next time consult an accountant before you open your mouth.

Good Luck Karen!

I hope all goes well sorting this out Karen, and it wont effect my views on you or rosity.

Hi folks,

I thank everyone for their support.

In the last few days, I have been able to talk to Pat civilly again, which is excellent news as he has "reopened" access to my stepson.

In order not to spoil this entente cordiale and by way of hoping to draw a line under things, I'm going to lock the thread.

Again I do thank all for their support, it has really helped me during this difficult time to know that my integrity is respected.

Karen :-)
