SerpentFire, you really should do a search for bagginsbill's various posts on water shaders and start off with exactly the shaders he posted.
Also handy if you post a screenshot of your shader setup so we can see what you're doing.
I don't know what the link in your first post was about, but it doesn't work.

But his scene did not really have a background so I had to tweak it. I am using the same ones again except that I just changed the color of the Diffuse Color and I also put Turbulence instead of clouds. I reattached the link to the Forum I used.

Change the transparency in the main Posersurface node. Same with diffuse colour to get bath/river/sea water.
Got a node plugged into Displacemnet so don't forget to enable this in your render settings. Also needs a sky dome for reflections.

Material was applied to the Poser 8 Hi-Res Square, Z-Scale and X-Scale set to 1000%. Changing the x-scale and z-scale in the Fractal Sum node changes the distance between the ripples. I'm not v good with nodes so a better explaination from an expert would be appreciated. Can this be used as a ripple and combined with another node to create the bigger waves. Maybe it easier to morph the square prop? More help needed!

That sounds logical, and I was actually wondering the same thing. Would be nice to be able to create something akin to a rough sea. I am sure BagginsBill would be able to say, he seems to be the guru on this sort of thing :) Also he might be able to suggest, or someone might be able to, how to light the water as if there are lights in the water. That was a very long winded way to ask that LOL But say for instance you wanted to create a swimming pool and it was going to be a night time scene, do you simply place a light under the surface of the water or is there a better way? I think I may be a little OT but I say things as they come into my head :)

Oh by the way, I was following advice given in another forum topic (http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php message_id=2811816&ebot_calc_page#message_2811816), but I tweaked it a little. The settings are pretty much the same only the Diffuse Color is not black because it was far too dark when I did that, and I tweaked the Bump and Clouds as well. I am looking for how to get rid of the.. noise for want of a better word. I mean I want it wavy so to speak but as you can see there is... static or something. Sorry, these aren't technical terms, but you know what I mean :)
