I've played with her a little bit, and she takes V4 poses well...* *

"KEZ-WM is a "weight-mapped" model of an adult female figure and will ONLY WORK in Poser Pro 2012 and Poser 9.  She weighs in at roughly 53,000 polys.  To accommodate the weight mapping the figure has been extensively reworked from my previous model.  The end result is that the bending of the various body parts has been substantially improved.  So, without all the drama and all the hype, KEZ-WM is just a nice little figure with basic morphs that now comes equipped with some pretty cool curves.....  I mean moves.  Also included are textures, a super-conforming swimsuit, and some hair.... Thank you and I hope you enjoy KEZ-WM."

Excellent.  Picked her up over the weekend and I must say, I am impressed.  I would like to see some more morphs, but she does well with V4 and V3 poses.  Some tweaking but the bends do very well.

**Extremely impressed with the figure and the clothing.**

Mesh: The BEST poly distribution I have seen in a long time for a Poser figure.
LOTS of facial morphs and they are very nice.
Rigging: Very well done and she bends great in most poses.

Unfortunately close to no body morphs, but ? Does she need it?
A bit low on muscular detail for the high poly count of 53.000.

Here an example of her and her cloth pack after some math room tricks.

See that I used the texture of the Shorts to let Poser make a displacement map.
The same was done on the Topperboots.
It increases realism.

A great figure and a great example of what WM can do to a rig.
Thank you for your generosity.

And here the math room setup I used on the skin. It worked pretty good for my light setup.

From the texture, to a hsv node where I change the Hue, Saturation and Value slightly.

This hsv node has 3 outputs:

  1. Goes to Math_functions/Substract to make a B&W map to feed the Displacement Input_1.
  2. Goes to Math_Functions_2/Substract to make a softer map to feed the Blender_2 Input_1 that will feed the Blinn node afterwards.
  3. Goes to Diffuse_Color at 0.85

Displacement at 0.01 Goes to a Blender where a Turbulence _2 is mixed with the B&W output from the hsv node

Alternate_Specular goes to a Blinn node that gets its data from Blender_2 where the softer map from the hsv node is mixed with the Turbulence_2

This setup gives lots of flexibility.

  1. Use the hsv node to "color" the skin. => very controllable

  2. Use Displacement to get some skin detail => Darker parts, like, brows, get more displacement

  3. Use the Alternate_Specular to get the "shine". => Darker parts, like brows,  get less "shine". the lighter skin gets more shine.

She's adorable, and bends very nicely indeed.

Plus... she has elbows!

I agree with vilters, she's a bit soft on the details and needs some morphs.  But a good skin texture and displacement map would go a long way to adding some details (oops, I am sounding like vilters, now).

Good render moriador.
Yep, a bit of muscular would do wonders for her.
And the face morphs are top.

It would do that if you went into any math channel, including Bump itself.

The point of the subtract is to offset it so the most common mid-gray value becomes neutral. But here the subtract is of 0, doing nothing at all - nada, zip - useless node.

From a guy who says every polygon must have a purpose - this node must go.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

:-) Every polygon must have a purpose; Correct. :-)

But not all people know, what you know in the math room sir. (with respect)

Most people wanna see what is going on.
(Like me. Sorry, I am not that strong in math)
That is also the reason why I open up all the windows.
So that every body can follow what I write, and can see what happens.

PS; the hair has the hair texture directly in Displacement at 0.1 on all layers in my setup.

Here another example of the same setup.

Different light, and I changed the Reflectivity in the Blinn to 5

Click to enlarge (Sorry, high compression to get below 200k)

Bottom line, it is a great figure, and with some very nice clothes..

I just throw Snarly's EZskin at her, it does the trick.

BTW, it's the MAT Room, not math.  Even though it seems that way sometimes.

kirwyn ( ) posted Tue, 31 July 2012 at 6:45 PM

Thanks guys.  I'm really happy you like the figure.  Vilters, that is some cool tricks in the mat room.  I've played around with all those different nodes, and generally, all I end up with is a big mess.  I do have a question for you.  You may have noticed that I used a small colored texture for the lashes.  If I took it away and just used the default to color the lashes, I always ended up with the lashes being way too dark in preview mode. I tried the alternate diffuse and had the same problem.  I really don't understand what I was doing wrong, but then again maybe it's my monitor or other settings that are out of whack.  Any ideas?

Yeah, okay, I see. I did know that those channels didn't see the color... or should have remembered that more clearly, I guess 😉

So the subtract would be relevant though, if an offset value was required, to make a neutrallly calibrated bump or displacement map, I take it?

If an offset was required though... how to tell, or measure what value it should be??

Indeed. It is l'ultime solution.

I wish I had an EZSkin for myself.

Well, I wouldn't mind a morph brush, either.

vilters ( ) posted Tue, 31 July 2012 at 7:30 PM

@kirwyn

Usually the hairs on a lashes transmap are very fine hairs.
Connected to Transparency with Gamma set at 1, as you did.
And connected to a very small Displacement node, some 0.001 or something alike.
Diffuse_Color stays BLACK at 1.000, and no texture atached.
Yes, your hairs on the transmap are thicker then what is normally used.
But you can set a slightly softer black in Diffuse_Color. Try 50,50,50 as RGB values.
And add a touch of specularity.
No need for a lashes map.

Happy posering, and thanks for a nice figure.

Some muskles ?

Texture is very good, too. Only things I'd change are better detail and some pre-shadowing for the teeth.

(Already did the latter on that render.)

I was thinking exactly the same thing. She has good, wide swimmer's shoulders.

Though, I was thinking of Dana Torres, from 4 years ago.

But she'd need some serious muscle morphs to really match Dana. :)

i love fit women, but i find Dana Torres remarkably unattractive (in MOST of her photos).  its the complete lack of hips.

it looks like someone photoshopped a woman's head onto Iggy Pop's body :P

moriador ( ) posted Wed, 01 August 2012 at 9:10 AM · edited Wed, 01 August 2012 at 9:11 AM

Well, I don't think she was trying to adhere to a particular concept of attractiveness. I think she was more interested in getting some more medals.

Given that at least a couple of team mates on the relay were not even born when she first competed, I think she did a remarkably good job.

You can't afford to carry around aesthetically pleasing fat on your hips if you're going to compete in a sprinting event in the olympics when you're 41 years old. Remarkably, being attractive to men (or rendering models who are attractive to men) isn't necessarily all that important to some women. :P

Haha. Wouldn't want to do that.  Poser community needs you to use those very refined observational skills, particularly concerning the aesthetics of female anatomy, to do more morphs! :)

Shame there does not seem to be anyone with quite the skill who also has as keen an interest in the gentlemen.

I think Blackhearted's penance, for the above comment about Dana Torres, should be to do a good "Iggy Pop" morph for the impending weightmapped James 😉

Or would you have a preference over Iggy Pop perhaps, Moriador?

No, I would not want a morph of Iggy Pop. Shudder.

But, if we must bring up "pop's" and swimmers, I wouldn't mind Alexander Popov. ;)
