Hi. I have a question about rendering images. Can i render high quality images without like 4000 series graphics card? I mean i have 1070ti now and i wonder if it's only about lighting and render settings or graphics card is mostly important? is rtx feature or other features important for render and light quality? For example could i get same result with my graphics card if i had his save file . i hope i can uplad the image.

Which version of Daz Studio are you using? According the the information on the page you provided it recommends version 4.22. You can not use this product in Poser. Is this a Nvivda graphics card? How much memory does it have? Why can't you upload the image? What do you plan to do with your high quality images. What is a high quality image to you? Can you use dForce items on your computer? Some people can not use dForce. Can you use the Iray render engine? Some people can not.

Most likely you can, but depending on your hardware and the settings you use,  the time it takes to render will vary.

You ask too much. Most of them irrelevant. My question is very clear. "Most likely you can, but depending on your hardware and the settings you use,  the time it takes to render will vary."  only this sentence is answer for me. So you mean it's possible. Thanks.

Well if you are not willing to provide the information requested, you may not get specific information on how to do what you want. I did  not notice those little symbols by your name when I read your question. So you are a Top Seller, Prime User, and a Vendor. I checked your store and put you on my list of vendors not to support because I was only trying to help you and your response leads me to believe you would not value me as a customer. CSR.

It has been my experience when asking a question if you provide the basic information as I requested, you are most likely to get answers that will help you including, links to why you might need to use certain settings to get the results you want.  With the right hardware and settings I can get a high quality render on my machine in less than 15 minutes, (and it can be printed) while others may render the same image and it takes 4 or 5 days to get the same results I get.

To be fair to ggreen, you did not give enough information in your original post to answer your question. What software are you rendering in? It's a Daz product so it's a reasonable assumption that you're rendering there, but there are bridges to other software and some people manage to get Daz products into Poser. What render engine are you using? What are the problems with your renders now? and rtx card may make your renders faster, but improve quality., it's hard to say.

I thanked you but still i thought you ask too much irrevelant question like "why can't you upload the image?" It reallly really doesn't metter dude. Seems like you got angry. You don't have to support me and i don't have to make everyone happy. That's a ridiculous threat.

After your answer I tried to design the same scene as in the image that i sent. As a result i got almost same quality image. I was just wondering whether it was possible for a professional to get the same result with a good and a bad computer. So I didn't want to waste my time if it's not possible.

Hi. Thanks for your answer. Yeah i use daz studio.  Actually i don't have a specific problem. I was speaking hypothetically. And yes i think rtx can make renders faster too. The images made by professionals looks very high quality and They look like they were taken in a studio sometimes. Then i try to render similar image and it doesn't look like their images. Even if i use similar hdri or same lighting system but sometimes i get much better results. Main problem is fireflies never goes away if i don't use post denoiser or noise degrain, But if i use them, this time the quality drops too much.  So  that's why i wanted to know if it's only about graphics card or am I missing something?

GGreen ( ) posted Sat, 16 November 2024 at 3:03 AM · edited Sat, 16 November 2024 at 3:11 AM

One of the things I have learned is to render the image larger than I plan to use it, usually two to three times larger than I plan to use, then reduce it to a smaller size. If the final image is going to be 2000 x 2000 I will render it as 4000 x 4000 or  6000 x 6000 and resize it to 2000 x 2000. I use the denoise option as well. this along with the lights, and other adjustments in the render settings and parameter tabs these things make a difference for me. Using the Iray render engine. Now if I use the filament  or viewpoint render engine I make the adjustments in the filament options that I like. It depends on what you are trying to achieve. The same with 3delight or the Lux or Reality render engines.  Some people say the aspect ratio is important but that has not been something I have found to be true in my case. Lights are a key factor as well. HDRI's can make a difference, but sometimes using them can lead to longer render times.  Some people like to use lots of lights while others will say that 3 lights is usually good enough. Then there is the process of multi-layer rendering which is what I do when I have lots of lights, you can render the scene per light (can not remember the term for that). You can also set up the scene to just render certain parts of the scene and put it together in a 2D program. Rendering a scene with lots of stuff in it including lights and multiple characters can take a long time. Also rendering scene with 1k, 2k, 4k, or 8k textures can cause the render time to be extremely long. So in a nutshell there are many things we do to get the look we want. Usually it is a combination of things we have learned by trial and error. Also keep in mind that just because something works on one system it will not work the same on other systems because of the system specs.

Saying you use Daz Studio is not enough because some people are using Daz Studio 23, and some people are still using Daz Studio 10. There are some features available only in certain versions of Daz Studio. Filament for instance is not available in DS 4.21, so I was told recently. Some people are still using Window 7 or 8, and you can not use dForce on some of those system. There is also the Octane render engine that some people use. There are certain plugins some of us use,  that can not be used in all of the versions of Daz Studio.

Graphics Memory can be another issue. The more memory you have the better chance you have of being able to get the results you want, or if you do not have enough memory you will run into some problems.

Camera settings can also make a difference. Surface Tab settings make a difference. So many things contribute to you getting the result you want.

Monitor size makes a difference too. I have a 17 in monitor for my laptop, a twenty-inch pen display, and a 26 inch regular monitor that I use. Sometimes at the same time,  anything larger and the image appears to be distorted to me.  That leads me to the screen pixel size, if the pixel size is too large, I can not see the detail all that well,

To address your irrelevant comment, to me the information was reverent because of how I tend to explain things. Let say you are using a Mac, well some things are not going to work on the mac as it does on Windows. So if you state what operating system you are using, then the person reading the post will know this.

Your render settings are very important, CPU or RTX or are you trying to use both. Someone would explain why one is better than the other. Also make sure you are using the latest version of the driver for your card, or you might run into problems.

When posting a question it is helpful for us to know as much about your system as we can, and the products that you are using. Example PaperTiger has some really great hdri and cameras. One of the is the x-ray camera. I love it, the results I get with my image and the results a friend of mine gets using the same products are not the same, because our systems are different.

My comment to you that you felt is a threat was to show you how your response on these forums can affect how much people support you. When someone takes the time to contact you about something, be respectful and helpful. That is good customer service.

When I asked you why you couldn't load your image, I was going to give you some tips in that area, but ...

You can get a high quality image, but it takes a combination of things to get the result you want. You can get an image that looks good on the computer but looks crappy when it is printed. It helps to know what a person is going to do with the final image.

As for the comment about a professional, a professional what. If you take the time to learn the software you can get the results you want. There are many different ways to get the same result.

I take my hat off to your patience and interest. Sorry for the misunderstanding and thanks for sharing your experience. Im not a mean person. I just didn't understand why did you ask all of those questions before.

I heard that resizing method but i thought it doesn't work well. I only use iray render, i dont know others. But i guess best one is iray at least for daz.

Yes using many light source make things worse puting them together in another program good idea.

is it possible to reduce texture resolution on daz?

I am using the latest version. Do you think older versions have better features that last versions don't?

My graphics card memory is 8gb. I know it's not so good and using windows 10.

"""My comment to you that you felt is a threat was to show you how your response on these forums can affect how much people support you. When someone takes the time to contact you about something, be respectful and helpful. That is good customer service.""" I respect you from the beginning. I don't think it's right to judge people this way. I mean they should't judge you by your forum comments. I don't want to be seen as a vendor in forum. That's different thing, of course I am always kinder and helpful to customers. Thanks for telling me this detail though.

I don't know why but picture button just doesn't work. I used before it was working well. But i don't think we need to try to fix this.

Let me explain what does high quality image mean to me. It must be high resolution, at least 2k. Light and shadow and contrast must be perfect. Details must be seen perfecly. So i want to see an image like shot by a photographer. I never able to adjust light and shadow that way. It always look artificial and bad for me in my renders.

""As for the comment about a professional, a professional what"" I was talking about the vendors who do this job for years and make renders like a scene from a movie or photo from a real studio. If i didn't see them, i would think it's not possible with daz.

I don't use Daz so I can't advise on that specifically. What I can say are generalizations I've noticed with the render engines in Poser and Blender, as well as a short stint with Reality. I'm also assuming that since you're a vendor you're hoping to get the best look without postwork since that's not allowed in the MP. In my experience, you need to have high enough render settings but things like proper lighting will help also. I've never seen these things being affected by the graphics cards. The only improvement I've seen is speed so I can use more lights or higher render settings and not have it take a long time. However, I also have to say that "a long time" is subjective. Switching from an 8-core CPU to an RTX 2060 for my rending makes things much faster in my book. It drops from hours or overnight to usually about 20 to 30 minutes. And I'm happy with that. But people with an RTX 4080 or 4090 will say my renders are so slow.

Try uploading an image again. I just did a couple of tests and had no problem. I recommend using jpg as they seem to upload best. Just keep the compression to a minimum so you don't lose much quality. And if you get an error message, please post that and I can message the developers.
