Thread: Tile Size In Hypervue | Forum: Vue
Hypervue is just the network manager, the only options that are from hypervue are the ones from network rendering manager. If you mean tile rendering at the rendering options, then I would recommend not using it at all as tile rendering only gets you a benefit when you render directly to the screen, otherwise its rather a disadvantage as its slower.
If you dont mean tile rendering then you must have another version of vue then me. I am using Vue Esprit 6 and cant think of anything else. In my Vue the word "tile" itself only appears in the render options screen. Maybe you can post a screenshot of your settings, that could make it easier for other users to see your settings and give advice what to tune up.

Thread: If i have a beeach in vue, how do i make Foam in the water? | Forum: Vue
Pmerminos method is probably the easiest for shores, for general foam bubbles in the water, it would be good to make a mixed material which makes adjusting foam/bubble amount quite comfotable. Maybe theres also a way to do it with ecosystem materials, but you cant populate an endless plane, so that would probably require much imagination and good ideas.

Thread: Filling up a transparent cup or container, with water. possible? | Forum: Vue
You dont need hexagon or any other external programs for simple forms. For example i make a drinking glass filled with water the following way in vue:
Make a Cylinder with the desired dimensions of your glass. Copy the object and paste. Make it a bit smaller (downscale, but make sure its centered on the first object, so the smaller cylinder is "inside" the first one.
Now pull the second cylinder a bit to the top that it comes out of the first one a bit.
Mark first cylinder and while holding CTRL select the second. Still hold CTRL, now additionally push "SHIFT" and "D". You have made a boolean difference, resulting an empty drinking glass.
Give the glass a material like standard glass or something else that suits your needs.
For the liquid open your boolean difference and select the second cylinder (not the whole group, just second cylinder). Copy it and resize it a bit vertically downwards, now load a material like "red wine", anything from liquids should work. I like red wine as you can see it quite good, for modelling its good until you are finished. You can scale it vertically to make the glass "fuller" or "emptier".

Thread: Need Tutorial | Forum: Vue
Quote - Yes it was the one and a big thanks for taking time to locate it.
Now to clear all my temp files so can save the movie file and have it so can use off link. :)Thats the tut I was thinking about but after looking at it I am still needing some help.
How do I add one car and make it populate as many and keep the same distance between each car. also same distance from side to side. ............?
Â
Ecosystem is meant to randomly distribute copies of an object or plant. If you are planning on making a long queue of cars with each having the same direction and distance from each other, then why not just making an array from one car? While holding alt key move the car, you will have moved a copy. now just hit the * (asterisk) key on your num pad (numlock should be turned on), it will ask you for a number, just choose 10 and hit enter key to have a queue of 10 cars all straight up in a line.
For an ecosystem i would recommend the following settings:
Tab Density: Choose "Force regular alignment of instances"
Tab Scaling and orientation: Choose "Maximum rotation to 0", "Maximum size variation to 0"
With the density tab you can control the distance, "Avoid overlapping instances" will not be available. The other settings should be like vue default when you create a new ecosystem from the basic material.
If your road is wide enough to allow 2 cars beneath each other (depends on density setting), it may look very odd, if you want to populate a 2 lane road and not have it looking like a military parade, then split the road in 2 objects placed beneath each other so you cant see its actually 2 objects. Then move one of them so the car queues have a variation, making it look at least a bit more realistic (although having same distance for every instance is already killing the feeling of realism, no variation here).

Thread: Final Release - Vue 6 Esprit | Forum: Vue
I did not have any issues with it, but if you are using large scenes/models (millions of polygons) and you're using poser figures, then you would probably be better off with the pre-release. Best is always to make a backup of your current install. If I'm not wrong then you can also replace some files to swap from one version to another (just in case...)

Wasnt that some e-on tutorial? Unfortunately the site is having problems currently, but i am sure e-on had a tutorial about populating a highway with cars, this is even one of the scenes that came with vue 6. Guess we need to wait untill e-on fixed the problems with the website.

A trick to access cornucopia is by just refreshing. I put the main address in my browser address bar and it throws me to an error page, put it again in the address bar and get another page, the third time it gets me to the real cornucopia page. Odd, but i can basically access it, though uploading pics is not working right now. I hope they fix it soon.

I'd also recommend to just take a glance at the manual if you seek help on a specific functions. These are explained quite well in the manual.

Thread: If any of us post anything positive about Vue or E-on are we always going to get | Forum: Vue
Awww, same goes for me i think. As i said before: Vue 6 is the best rendering app i got. I am probably just a bit frustrated as I cant afford the super version with all features any more. WHen i bought my last Vue (vue 4), there were no Pro, Infinite or Xstream versions, i paid 250 bucks and got neraly everything eon could offer. Now i feel like a poor bum as i cant access some cool advertised features.Â
Bah, i will amke some money from selling really awesome vue stuff and then afford the XStream version and every single addon that is available.  :P

Thread: If any of us post anything positive about Vue or E-on are we always going to get | Forum: Vue
Well i didnt have many bugs or crashes, but I'm probably not "hardcore" enough, i guess i only use a very small bit of vue's potential and luckyly this bit is whats running stable.
Personally I am very happy with vue 6, but i think its only as i only have it for a few weeks now and just played around a few hours here and there. And I'm still amazed as i come directly from vue 4 and the functions you may already know from vue 5 and dont notice is all new for me.
I'm feeling a bit ripped off when i wanted to install rendercow and wondered why i cant use it - took me quite some time to notice that i need to buy another 30 Euro module "just for network rendering". I can understand that they want money for building up a render farm with like 100 nodes, but this really annoyed me. I read the manual and it describes all stuff how to set it up, but it didnt mention a single word about that you need an extra module for extra money to use it.
But the best thing was when i opened up the new materials and thought like "Ah, paint - cool that they added this" and you select the material and it asks you to buy the materials from cornucopia now. THATS REALLY NASTY! Eon you mean old men, if you dont wanna include a material, then leave it out. I dont pay over 200 bucks for a software that always tells me like "Buy this now, buy that then". This is how these ringtone companies rip off teenagers, but no professional business behaviour. AT LEAST ONE DAMN MATERIAL SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THAT CATEGORY. Then i could maybe have forgiven eon.
I already thought that i should maybe buy vue infinite, but why waste another 300 bucks? I already bought 3 extra modules and probably i buy infinite for much $$$ just to have infinite tell me what i could get if i buy xstream, eh?
I really feel a bit fooled, but still Vue 6 is my favorite rendering program. Its just delivered with a great "but..."
My 10 cents, i can really understand how you guys feel with having crashes and stuff not working on top of that.

Thread: Vue and Game Design | Forum: Vue
Yeah, i also wanted to pledge for "myst type" games.
Besides that i dont see why Vue should be "worse" for game development then other tools. Since Vue 5 you can export scenes and objects. Most Game 3D engines can import .3ds files, so 3D Max could be between Vue and the game. I have never exported much or did any 3D games, but I dont think Vue is better or worse then other applications, only thing to mention would be that vue lacks a modeler (nurbs or polygon), afaik you mainly export objects into your 3D game engine and usually do the rest with the native editor for the engine. But I'm really no pro regarding games, best i ever programmed was a black jack in VB.
