welcome back, with any luck it'll only take Daz a year to get the bugs worked out and for the Beta version to become the "official release" version. Then we begin to find out how much D|S will end up costing people.

try just picking your favorite and just buy for that. Just because a character is available doesn't mean you have to buy it. Besides with that many new characters coming out only one or two will last for long, the rest will be soon forgotten.

If you're burned out of ideas, try taking other peoples existing clothing created for one character (V3 for example) and alter them to fit the joint paramiters & shape of another character (V2 for example) and sell the altered version using RTEncoder or Objaction Mover that would require the person already have the other version as well. There are so many clothing items I'd love to use but can't because they are only available for one character and not another. There's bound to be others in the same boat, try look for high selling clothing items and create versions for other figures. Might be worth a shot to try it on a few items and see what the interest would be.

I'm avoiding both M3 and V3 mainly due to their size and the power it takes to use them (plus V3's body sux when morphed). You can do them for whatever character you fancy but keep in mind that Mike 2 never got the attention that Vicky 2 got so there still might be some people looking for items for him. Depending on what you're creating maybe you could do it for both.

Question: will D/S be compatable with P5 runtimes and characters created in P5?

bought V3, liked V3, took too much power to use even doing what Mason suggests so I junked V3. Won't buy M3 or Steffy 2 until Microsoft Longhorn is released since that OS is going to require major processor and memory increases. Computers that powerful might make V3 and M3 actually useable.

Ratteler - I e-mailed Daz about that very idea months ago & brought it up in Renderosity forums. I don't care how it's done, I just want to be able to keep buying the clothing and if its a recut V2 that's fine with me. Best of luck with the project.

I'm not saying it's a conspiracy, I'm just stating the truth. Daz wants people to buy clothing, textures etc... for Vicky 3, not to keep using the old items you've already paid Daz for once before. That's why they don't put any morphs in the V3-V2 body, because then you'd just buy the Vicky 3 character and not the new versions of the old clothing. In 18 months when Vicky 4 comes out, Vicky 3's clothing won't fit her. It's just be a continuous cycle. Not saying it's right or wrong, it's just the way it is. Truth is I like Vicky 3 and would use her if I could. Computers just aren't powerful enough yet to use her for more than just portraits or with just a couple of characters in a picture. With any luck Daz Studio will allow people to put 8-10 Vicky 3's in a scene and my problems will be solved. If not, I'm stuck with Vicky 2 and will keep whining, bitching and moaning every time I see an item of clothing I want to give someone money for but can't because it's only for Vicky 3.

I could be wrong but I don't recall Daz releasing a single non-brokered item for Vicky 1-2 since Vicky 3 was released. They just cut off all support for her. I doubt they'll change their strategy for Mike 3 although the major difference with him is Mike 1-2 never got all the clothing Vicky 1-2 did so there is potentially still a healthy market for Mike 3 clothing being converted. What I'd love to see is someone good at modeling open a store devoted to taking V3 and M3 clothing done by Daz or here at Renderosity, convert the clothing to V2 and M2 and sell the converted items to people using Objaction Mover or RTEncoder. Bet a good amount of $$$ could be made with half the effort. Just convert other peoples creations and it's perfectly legal.

Daz is just doing to Mike what they did to Vicky. Same old, same old. They want you to dump the old & buy the new.

Pornography is indeed in the eyes of the beholder... and when one realises that pornography outsells regular Hollywood offerings every year I'd say a lot of eyes behold it (not that anyone ever admits it). :)

Billy-T and Uzilite were easily my top merchants, I have just about everything they produced for Vicky & Mike 1-2. But once they went to V3/M3 only they might has well have died because I simply can't use the higher rez characters for what I need with the current level of computer technology. I still have their stuff on my wish lists & with hope when I get my Pentium 5 with 10GB of RAM, I'll be able to switch to V3/M3 & will quickly give them my money once again.
