Quote - There will be a native Vue version within the next few months. I'm not sure exactly when, but I'm working on a Vue 5 conversion of the first set of city blocks right now. It will be sold through Cornucopia.Â
Absolutely great! Thanks for your work, It will be a must have stuff.

I own the entire Dystopia Lightwave collection and unfortunately It look very bad once imported in Vue, every texture/surface/materials is totally out of scale/values. Never tested the Poser version... I hope in a native Vue version

I've then converted into .vob object the entire 70 Lightwave blocks. To speed-up the conversion task I used a keystroke+mouse recorder, this allow a complete object conversion in less than a minute saving thausands mouse click and value change!
The magic value is 0.01 for both mat scale and bump depth.

Thread: Graphics card performance difference? | Forum: Vue
There is some way to "benchmark" a videocard OpenGL performance in Vue ? I wonder how my videocard score when compared to a 7800 or equivalent ATI card.

I currently own a FireGL v5100 and I'm quite sodisfacted about overall performance and compatibility with various 2D and 3D sw, altought it's powered by the quite old x800 GPU I believe Quadro and FireGL cards are more targeted for particular 3D sw. like Autocad, Catia, SolidWorks etc. You pay more to have an optimized OpenGL driver that give no more speed but better compatibility and visualization precision. In Vue (and many other apps) you get better performance by using any modern consumer card much more powerful and less expensive. A question I've about consumer card is which one show a better OpenGL support, ATi or Nvidia ? Cheers, Mario

Thanks all again for the help attempt, really appreciated. Today I've spent another hour in conversion/exporting/importing attempt, a lousy failure... I've a few more question to ask: @billy-home: The native .obj Dystopia models load fine in Vue ? @megalodon: Your uvmap+bake process is hard to apply to models like the cityblock ? Do you have some how-to tips to share ? Cheers, Mario

I've just finished a timewasting and frustrating conversion / import attempt. A cityblock was loaded in RightHemisphere DeepExploration and exported in various format .3ds, .obj+.mat, lwo 5 and 6, .cob Vue import was a total failure, the object look always different, probably the best result come from the .obj+.mat version, but it's too far from how the model look in Lightwave... Another way is to load the object in Vue and rescale each texture from 1.0 to 0.1 + rescaling each bump depth channel to 0.1. but again, the mesh look far from reality. I'm not happy about how Vue handle object import, I hope the E-On coders will soon put the hand in Vue import routine.

Thanks for your answer. The manual texture rescaling is a thing that I try to avoid because each block have 40 ~ 50 textures / materials applied, importing many blocks into a scene result in a near endless texturing operation. But I start to believe there is no other way, sigh!

I own for a short time 2 dual core Pc's: Intel Pentium-D 3ghz + Intel D945Pvs + 2Gb DDR2 ram AMD X2 4400+ + Asus A8N32-SLI-DL + 2Gb Corsair XMS Vue score much better with AMD system. The Vue Infinite scene "Cerro Verde" render as follow: Intel: 16' 32" AMD: 9' 30" Another reason I suggest AMD is the lower cpu temperature during long rendering, when both cores are fully loaded Intel (Zalman 7700cu cooler): 72 C deg. AMD (boxed cooler): 44 C deg. After long evaluation I sold the Intel system because AMD run better under every aspect. In my opinion the best cost vs. performance cpu is the AMD X2 3800+
