I use 2 screens and the one screen has the folder for all the backgrounds. I like this because I can set the view size to huge, instead of a thumbnail. :)

A common "technique" in industry is to buy whole companies and products, just to get the patents. Then the tech acquired can be applied to in-house uses or simply abandoned (to take it out of competition). I posted such a comment once at DAZ and it was pulled down again in minutes. I have always suspected some Carrara code was needed in Studio. Whatever [shrug].

DAZ is obsessed with security, keeping their content from being shared for free (this is understandable). They are willing to lose a set of customers if the new program doesn't work for them. When their security and mine conflicted (they embed i.d. information into your system) during the release of DIM, I realized that I could make do without their products. Thank goodness for other vendors!

I have never had this problem with V4, but there's a way to handle the shaders that might be a workaround. Load all your textures on the figure, then grab that colorful "multiple shading domains" sphere at the top of the list. With the shaders tab open in the browser, drag and drop the sphere into your shader library. Next time you load the figure, go to the shaders and drag that shader back to the multiple domains sphere for that figure.

I have seen this kind of distortion when the vertices have not been assigned to the correct (or any) bones in the skeleton. You can check for this by applying a more drastic pose. Without even the save/re-open step, those mal-assigned vertices will distort. If this is the problem, it can be fixed by assigning the vertices properly. There are tutorials for doing this, as part of creating clothes in poser.

I gave up totally on DAZ last year after not being able to figure out the cost to me of anything in the store. It does feel like "spin the wheel" on pricing. I have almost forgotten about DAZ altogether.

I have always used the prop hair just because it is conceptually easier. It takes a long time to render, so if the C8 hair room is really easy enough and just as fast or faster, I will be delighted to use it. :)

The DIM actually installs security stuff for DAZ into the depths of your computer. Once installed, the DIM cannot change it. So, when I tried long ago to route purchased content to my preferred library, it could not do that (a legitimate bug), but then could not change it to DAZ's default. Since then, I am locked out of Daz studio, due to the way the content manager works, all because of this old "security" bug. Bah. I just go with other vendors.
