Make a copy of your Poser Runtime folder on your C drive; do a fresh reinstall of Poser on your D drive. When it's done, replace the Poser runtime folder on the D drive with the copy you made from your C drive earlier. I run Poser 7 with Vista 64 and have no problems at all.

If you have Aery Soul's "White Rose", the material on the metal jewellery pieces makes an excelllent procedural metal, and looks brushed/textured. You can apply it to any object.

Thread: What Are The Best Specs For Poser ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I had an XP system with 2 Gb on board, running Windows XP, and a series of GFX cards, nothing too fancy, such as an ATI X1950 Pro, an NVidia 8600GT, and BFG NVidia 7600GT. At various times it had a Pentium 4 3.4Ghz, an E6700 Dual Core and finally a Q6600 Quad Core CPU. I got Poser 7, and had nothing but trouble with it, having used Poser 6 happily for years. I had random crashes, white screens, black screens, sometimes even Poser just diappearing altogether.
A few months back, following a heart attack, I spent a bit of time building a complete new system. This was based on an Asus P5Q Pro motherboard, the Q6600 processor noted above, 8Gb of Geil Black Dragon memory (uber-cool red LEDs!) and Windows Vista 64 bit Home Edition OS. It has, at various times, had all the graphics cards above installed on it, plus an ASUS 8600GT. The problems with Poser 7 lessened somewhat, and I finally identified the Open GL as the source of the problem, I think. I finally settled on using the BFG NVidia 7600GT, and have no problems whatsoever running Poser 7 now. Last couple of weeks I've been effortlessly (on the part of the PC, that is - nearly broke me!) working with 400Gb scene files with completely smooth results, producing 3000*2400 pixel renders, and not a single crash. Personally, I think it's all down to the red LEDs on the memory.
Hope that helps!

Dunno - before we got these two, we had two other German Shepherds, who were both ex-British police dogs....perfectly trained. Pagan is the total opposite - full of mad energy to the point of being unstable; the one thing they have all had in common is immediate and deep loyalty and extreme intelligence.

Quote - Good dogs!
I once came home to find a screen half pried off a back window. The only dog I had at the time was a beagle, so the guy must have been dog-dumb. The best performance was the stumping politician who asked if I was going to sic my black&tan on him (as he hastily retreated). Another dog-clueless person.
Is Pagan German Shepherd?
She is; Suki is a Northern Inuit.

Looks good - my late brother was an SFX designer at the BBC in the 1970s (the youngest BBC SFX designer ever, in fact), and built the original ones of these for Doctor Who. I used to have a real one in my Dad's garage....AND a real Dalek (a half-sized one, used on the Spike Milligan Show, as part of a Dalek family), AND a Sea Devil.....wish I had them now, I'd be rich, rich rich....! Imagine what they'd fetch on Ebay....sigh......

No to the paste and cut, yes to 2D/effects; don't know what a Tube is!
As to the 50% thing.....I don't know, maybe 20%?

Thread: render figures with out background | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I do it all the time, and can confirm that it works, and works well. It's particularly effective if you put something (smoke, rain, light beams etc) in front of the figure as well as behind it, and between figures if you've got more than one. I used the technique here:

Welllllll.........
I can't really be arsed (sorry to any non-Brits/Ausssies to whom the phrase "arsed" means nothing) to read a forum organised/run by the people who currently own our beloved Bryce and whose commercial aspirations are plain for all to see - I don't blame them, they've got bills to pay and families to provide for, like everyone else.....I suspect that I could take a fairly accurate stab at 90% of what's written there anyway. If you honestly believe that Daz will take notice of your opinion of what should/should not be in Bryce if/when they ever update/repackage/sell it, then I wish you well. Maybe the moon is made of green cheese and the fairies come in and defrag my disks at night.
To the best of my recollection, I've been using the sacred app since oohhh....let's see....1996? 1997? I know I had Windows 95 at the time I installed it from a cover disk on "Computer Arts", which featured an article on Kai Krause. I wonder how many Bryce users here in 2008 even know who Kai Krause is....
I've seen Bryce come, and I've seen Bryce go; I once had more than a year without it installed, I've seen me seriously distracted at work, thinking "I could be Bryceing right now"; I've seen me spend literally all night getting a render just right...I've had it crash at the drop of a hat, I've had it stun me with it's capabilities. I've always been fairly happy with it as an app, as I've never had the money to lay out on something with all the bells and whistles. It's still my favourite renderer. Sure, you can't use it to model much more than a shiny sphere over water- so buy a $1000 dollar app instead - it doesn't have Ecosystems - who cares, it costs pennies - what it does have is a fantastically intuitive interface, the ability to conjure magic out of thin air and the power to fire up/reflect your imagination in a way no other app I know of can - I've used Zbrush, Poser, Lightwave, Vue, 3DS Max and Mojoworld and can say that Bryce outstrips them all, pound for pound/dollar for dollar for ease of use and sheer visual impact.
Ladies and gentlemen, please be upstanding for Bryce - a fine old gent.
