Try this for a quick starting point... 1. Create a cube, size and locate as follows: size x=100, y=36, z=20. Locate the cube at x=0, y=18,z=0 and check the positive button. 2. Create a cylinder, size and locate as follows: size - x=80, y=21, z=50. Locate the cylinder at x=0, y=0, z=0. Rotate the cylinder x=90, y=0, z=0 and check the negative button. Select both the cube and the cylinder and group them. Apply a stone material. There's a dark stone with light mortar in the standard Bryce Rocks&Stones material. Render, Voila!

...don't get me wrong. I'm all for 'invented' words. If it weren't for them we'd all still be grunting and pointing. All words were at one time 'invented'. That's how language grows and becomes rich. Walter

..this is great, I realy like that. Painter Classic, hmm. I've had Painter Classic for some time but never did anything with it 'xcept accents on Bryce renders with the image hose. Maybe I should dust it off and try using it to its full capacity. BTW, photo-realism vs. painterlyness (is that a real word?) I don't think are an issue since both approaches are a legitimate means of expression and most folks here recognize that. Walter

Did you ever see those wooded posable artist's dummies? (kinda like in the Poser desktop icon). I think the original concept behind Poser was to be an electronic posable artist's dummy. You can use it anyway you see fit. It's YOUR licensed copy of Poser on YOUR computer and I'm sure most, if not all, members of Renderosity feel that you have, not only the right, but are encouraged and welcome to, express your artistic vision as you see it. Walter P.S. Please DO NOT apoligize for using your own work as examples. I like the "brush" example. it shows emotion and feeling...
Thread: Poster Size Render....???? HELP PLEASE...!!! | Forum: Bryce
P.S. That gonna' be one huge file. A 24 bit RGB 6000 x 9000 image at 300 DPI would be more than 150 MB (that's MEGA BYTES like in million)... Walter
Thread: Poster Size Render....???? HELP PLEASE...!!! | Forum: Bryce
That depends on the resolution in DPI (Dots per inch) you want in your final print. You can use 1 DOT = 1 PIXEL. so if you want a 20 inch by 30 inch poster at 300 DPI your image size in Poser should be 6000 by 9000 pixels. Good luck with your render. That's a real nice image btw. and it would make a great poster... Walter

Thanks for your response, picnic, 'though it's not the one I wanted to hear (but it still is an awesome model...) Guess I'll have to do the best I can to bend, twist, fold, staple and mutilate until the wings look almost folded and then add a lot of real heavy duty post work :) Walter

...or a "sphere". The texture part is not that hard either. Go to http://maps.jpl.nasa.gov. The Earth, the moon and a bunch of other planet texture maps are available for free d/l.
Thread: focal length experiment | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't think you can actually set the focalength in Bryce but you can set the field of view numerically (FOV). The default 60 degrees in Bryce is a bit on the wide side, appx that of a moderate wide-angle lens. The field of view of a normal lens (in 35mm photography) is 46 degrees for a 50mm standard lens. I have (had) info on fields of view for various focal length lenses, but can't get my hands on it right now...

Thread: Un named WIP | Forum: Bryce
I repeat myself, I repeat myself and I talk too much... :) I don't mind the torn dragon wings, in fact I like them. (Dragons go through hell, always being attacked by knights and other do-gooders and stuff...)
Thread: Un named WIP | Forum: Bryce
The succubus looks like it has wings(?) growing out of her ears. Shouldn't they be attached to the shoulder blades? I think the dragon's texture merges too much with the water texture (which is very good btw. (the water texture, that is)). I'm not sure how the dragon texture should be should be different, but it needs to stand out more. Maybe a warm color? Keep working on it. Looks good so far.

Thread: If I had the money to buy one of these...Id buy a house instead | Forum: Bryce
I like that. Excellent speed streaks and light flare, good post work, but (you knew there was gonna be a 'but') loose the white on the left above your logo. It pulls the eye out of the picture.

...one more thing. I realy like that front-end loader on the right and I wish I could see more of it. Have the driver of the cement mixer pull up a little and then you can show more of the front-end loader. This way the three vehicles would form a triangle that mirrors the triangle formed by the fence. Might help the composition and fill the dead space on the left ...I'm rambling, sorry... Walter bte - That loader looks like a very good model, Where can it be had?
