That's Terragen2, which is forthcoming. No-one suspected about EcoSystem before it was launched upon us, E-On just like to keep things close to their chest is all. Whatever E-On has as "forthcoming" may blow TG2 out of the water, you just never know :)
Thread: How do I do this? | Forum: Vue
I was just about to post the same link :D Glad people are still getting something out of it.
Thread: Vue5 Infinite Fusion | Forum: Vue
Back of the line buddy ;) :D you kiss mine, and I'll be sure to pass it down the chain :D Anyway, jokes aside I hope the pricepoint will be somewhat more reasonable.

I would think xFusion is targetting anyone who wants to use their V5I landscapes in their accompanying 3D apps, which is me. I would buy xFusion for Lightwave, it seems silly to price it beyond my ability to justify a huge amount. Upping the price because they're targetting professional users is a bit premature IMO, Vue is made up mostly of home users.

Jeez that sounds expensive for something that links two applications I already shelled out for. I'm hoping there's going to be incentives, packages etc to sweeten the deal for home users.
Thread: 3d World Magazine issue#67 | Forum: Vue
DAZ Studio demo, 5 high-quality aircraft models, Cinema 4D 9.5 demo, Lightwave texture video tutorial, freebie textures. Not much of interest (for me anyway) but some good stuff in the mag.

Well, all I can tell you that my #71 does indeed say December 2005 on it, and that it has the XBox logo rendered in 3D on the cover. Perhaps they're going to take a month off? :D OR... they're going to put out a Christmas special, sort of the best tuts of 2005 or something.

#69?
I got #71 the other day. I subscribe and live in the UK, but still 2 issues behind seems tough.
And yes - strictly speaking scanning & emailing would be ilegal, but seeing as he's done everything he can to do it legitimately... well I suppose he could email them and get permission to do it in the face of no other alternative.

If there's no way to get this tutorial, then I suppose there's no harm in someone (me for example) scanning it and emailing it to you. You tried every other alternative. Let me see if I can find it though first :D
Thread: X-Frog Trees in Ecosystem? | Forum: Vue
Yep I agree, the Ecosystem is pretty much designed for medium to distant detail, and if used as such is incredibly powerful and effective. The high detailed models are fine for foreground use, but not really for distant use.

Thread: HEY! YOU LOT!.... | Forum: Vue
When Ecoing distant cities, do it in two ecosystems. On the first Ecosystem, for the center of the city have random rotation (but vertical). For the rest of the city, have all the buildings rotated in 90 degree increments only. Its a subtle thing, but most (European) cities have chaotic jostling inner layouts and more regular lined up layouts toward the edges. It will look better without you really knowing why.
Thread: LW & V5I | Forum: Vue
Best to just import with no textures at all & just use it for sync purposes. Lightwave will not ever render the scene as well as Vue will, well not until Fusion comes out anyway. Also, the LW scene export won't export Eco systems.
Thread: The renderfarm experiment, part II (animation) | Forum: Vue
Yeah I see your point Louquet, but as it stands the results are only meaningful to yor specific setup. Which is fine, you're posting information based on your setup and I have absolutely no quibble with it :) An accurate test which is useful to anyone would of course be a test with 10 identical PCs, which is why I mentioned basing the result on the most "average" PC you had. But in any case, it was a very nice little test you did there, and it made for an interesting read. Cheers :D

More useful info, thanks for taking the trouble :) I guess the final ratio figure - 3.82 sounds at fist a little disappointing, until you realise that is from the POV of the fastest machine. If the ratio were taken from the POV of a medium machine the result might be a little more balanced. Of course, the ideal test would be made using an array of identical machines, but obviously that can't be done here, which is why I would suggest the ratio be measured from a medium machine.
Thread: Vue Fusion | Forum: Vue
I would think a slightly lower pricepoint would be appropriate for a plugin that cannot be edited without a Vue licence. It looks (to me, from the press releases) that Fusion without a Vue licence will allow for preset atmospheres, textures, plants etc only, so the plugin alone will be limited for real professional use.
