I'd like to see Poser cameras, both sharpen and zoom.Just repeating this to emphasise what I hope the Devs will see: Add several lense options for the cameras so that I can try equirectangular renders, for example. In that case, may as well let us export in multi-EV HDRI as well.
Thread: Why hasn't the official POSER13 forum been launched yet? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Don't kid yourself, Joe. Full Studio compatibility isn't the answer. First off, both programs seem to be in a state of constant development at this point, so basically we're talking two moving targets. Only one program works on Macs. At least, Studio never did when I was on the Mac. I don't honestly think DAZ WANTS compatibility with Poser anymore. Maybe they did back in 2009, but since then they've become even more divergent in their development. No, I think it would be best for Poser to go it's own way, stop trying to win back old customers who have abandoned us, and start working to bring in new ones.

Just out of curiousity, does this create footprints or tracks in the snow? Or is their some trick to making them?

But why post, and then block the message? For that matter, why respond to a thread I started if I can't even see your response?

Poser included Cycles (albeit a bit watered down) in it's program, as well, as Bullet Physics and Cloth Simulation.

It been awhile I believe but I seem to recall SM giving money to Blender for it's development. If that's not something Bondware is continuing, then perhaps they should. Then Poser and Blender could work a little more hand in hand on development.

Poser's Superfly isn't terrible..... but yeah, Blender is better, and has several nodes that for some reason Poser never explains, is not present in Poser. To be honest, I've never had success working with FBX to get figures moving in Blender and frankly, it's time-consuming and an extra step, I don't need. Also, I've avoided Cinema 4D, Maya and view for all these years, so I don't want or need the expense and frustration of learning a new software now. Poser to Blender will do if they ever get their act together before I die.

No, I don't care about the figures moving once they get into Blender. I want to set up the scene in Poser, pose the figures as I like, then export the scene, minus the lights and cameras, into Blender for rendering.

I would settle for a way to get a file scene from Poser into Blender. Then I could use true Cycles to render the scene. That's the one benefit Poser has over Blender at this point, posable figures.

I was with you until you listed points 6 and 8. I'd need to see the UI update first. I didn't particularly like the Kai Krause UI update when they changed in back in version two.Everyone is staring, like rabbits at a snake, at Unimesh. It is of no use to anyone to open just one more construction site. But there are many important things that need to be done first.
1. the full Cycles Node support
2. remove the bugs from the existing Cycles Nodes
3. a more manageable way to access the nodes. The four level pulldown menu is just annoying.
4. a faster preview window
5. a faster and updated clothroom
6. an overhaul of the outdated UI
7. a few working examples for the integration of Python programs in the addon directory. Everything is very cryptic.
8. removal of the unspeakable Firefly engine
I will update in any case. Just because of the faster render times. I am rather the impatient type
Greetings Bastep
And I'm no Firefly expert, so I just don't use it. I never got along with it which is why I never understood why in the world Firefly was tied to Cycles. That said, I still wouldn't ask that it be removed as some people really do like it.

Again, I have no animus against Superfly..... except for those five or so nodes that I've been complaining about for years. It makes little sense to me to build something in Blender, Use Cycles nodes in Blender, but not be able to reproduce what I made in Blender, in Poser. For the moment, I'm foregoing getting Poser 13. Something I have done, since Poser 5 is to skip a version.

Are we upgrading from Poser 11?????? I do have Poser 12, but it was basically a beta version.
