I loaded up a scene in p8 that had taken p7 two and bit episodes of Babylon5 to render, (sorry I can't be more specific). P8 rendered it in 35mins. I have a quad core, but beyond that I couldn't say.
I mostly like the new UI. It'll take a bit of getting used to but that's ok. Not at all sure about the teeny tiny thumbnails in the library though. Is there a setting you can change to get them back to a better size? I know you can click each individual thumbnail to get a bigger one, but seriously, that's going to be a huge pita.

As long as it is a good lager I'm sure you'd find something to do with it.
Doh...clearly not enough coffee this morning,

Me either*, however, I still have my platinum club membership and with the exchange rate the smaller pay package comes in at a little over ยฃ30. Not at all sure if I would ever use the additional stuff in the lager package.
*although it didn't stop me with poser 6 & 7.

I don't know if there will be a shift en masse, but I know that I'm certainly intrigued by the feature set of DS3. Feels like succumbing to the Darkside though.

This is superb timing :) I've been going through the gc threads this weekend but couldn't for the life of me figure out how to save the shader network.
Many thanks :)
Thread: Problems with poser 7 saves | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've had this a lot. Using the python scene inventory script I found out that poser wasn't looking where it should for the texture files. It was inserting another file level that simply didn't exist on my system.

The first line is where it should have been looking, the second is where it was actually looking. I think it had to do with the space, although P7 worked fine like that for six months before it started with this. I tried everything to fix it, deleted preference files and whatnot and nothing short of a full uninstall/reinstall (including all the stuff it hides in my docs) fixed it.
The second time it happened my very clever boyfriend set up some sort of virtual shortcut to save me the stress.
Don't know if any of this helps at all, but if none of the above works, load up a scene that's giving you hassle, run the script and have a look :)
