I've made a series of wave/beach tutorials that might help.Thread: All right, age check | Forum: Bryce

That's about like mine. I squashed the sphere down a bit and put a starmap I made on a cloud plane, instead of bryce stars. Turned the sunlight off and use one radials and a spot with "no falloff". The radial is below the 2d moon and casts the shadows. Thanks for the interest

Thread: What is art? | Forum: Bryce
If a Canadian beaver trapper put his graffitti-covered canoe up for display, it's just a graffitti-covered canoe.
If an artist in Montreal, or NYC puts up a graffitti-covered canoe up in a gallery, it's called art. If a fancy pants art critic agrees, it is then called brilliant art and it is then worth thousands.
A large part of being a "real" artist (more than the talent and craft) is public relations and good timing.

Thread: THE CRYSTAL PALACE CHALLENGE - VOTE HERE! | Forum: Bryce
Well, I see no more or less amazing skill in modeling from either entry. I can't decide which is better modeled and to pick a better render isn't the contest, so I respectfully decline. Try doing this with 2x4s and nails. Now there's skill!!
Thread: Before there was the Crystal Palace | Forum: Bryce
I appreciate any and all votes and all the neat comments. I still say this method is easier than it looks. Took about fifteen minutes to draw the five images in Photoshop (being sloppy helps) and about an hour in Bryce. Getting the glass material was the hardest thing and it still doesn't look right. I do this sloppy style once in a while, mainly because I lack the patience to model anything very intricate.

Thread: Any Way To Stop And Restart Render To Disk? | Forum: Bryce
Using ACDSee, you can view a "render to disk" image, in progress, if saved as a .psd file. You could probably just copy the partially rendered file to another location with whatever file manger you have. Last week, I was halfway through a long render and spotted a mistake. I saved the partial render, through ACDSee and then when I started the render again, I blocked off the top portion with a black square in front of the camera and re-rendered, using just the lower half this time.

Thanks for all your efforts, Bruce. I remember seeing the artwork there, such a long time ago and thinking, "How do they do that stuff?". I've been fortunate to win a few Select Awards and they are truly meaningful.

Sorry, I guess I should have been clearer. The two renders are done in Bryce, then everything else is done in postwork (Photoshop, PSP,Photopaint). Whatever app as long as it does layers. One layer goes over the other and then erased.
