Good luck with it Boni I am always stuffing it up and redoing it when I try it as very small changes can make big differences. this is the link for a small tute on the new shader. tute

Thread: New principled hair | Forum: Blender
The first one was the last one I did when it comes to styling hair I am really crap at it lol. Need a lot more practice. The shader seems to work better on a medium to long straightish hair particle system. Once I get better at it and work out what nodes will plug into nicely am hoping to get some very good results. I tried on polygonal type hair as well but the effects were less than poor to say the least. Tried it on the tolouse and some old Swam obj's I had. This is on 2.79 master or 2.79.5 which is the zip file and not the current release.

Thread: Modifier is disabled skipping apply | Forum: Blender
Hi RedPhantom Not sure if this is any help at all but a little while back I had a similar issue with some archipack stuff on window boolean not working. After a while I found that it had worked but extra object had been placed in the window hole that was used as the glass which showed up as solid and connected. And required node changes to make it show up as it should ie glass. Not sure if it helps but worth checking.

Thread: Blender 2.8 will take some getting used to | Forum: Blender
I remember picking up 2,4 and I still have the zip file stored on my old drive but couldn't get the hang of it at all. Tried again with 2.78 and not sure why but just fell into the way it worked straight away and easily. Strange as I came from working with Maya at an agency. the new 2.79.5 has a couple of 2.8 menu styles to it but nothing else. And 2.8 looks and feels totally different to me atm with the couple of builds I have looked at. With all things though will learn and grow with it even though some changes I dislike there are others that I do. And the tutorials that will be about will always be helpful to show how to do things in the new way.

Thread: Texture not showing up | Forum: Blender
Good to here I was pulling my hair out, snap shoted your texture and could not reproduce what you had no matter what I did. With out adding weird bump and invert things to it. lol And have had that happen before to me but didn't even cross my mind lol. Not sure how much you are doing to it this is only a 32 sample viewport but on a full full render would come out alright.

Thread: FBX and animation | Forum: Blender
Atpo FBX import to blender is touchy at best and requires that Daz3d uses the same conventions in its algorithms. The only FBX I have found to work every time is that coming out of 3DMax.
Try this

I would then animate in blender rather than Daz3d. but if that is what you wish to do then follow the above and then export the anim out as a bvh and bring that into blender I have never done this but I presume the bvh will match the rig correctly.

Hi Apto I played around with this a little last night and found the Dae (collada) format worked a lot better than the FBX format and way better than dson json daz importer, plus I had no issues with the rig at all, which I did have with the other formats.Did the whole thing in about 20 mins. V8 or G8 or whatever she is called now, pay no mind to the shaders as I spent very little time on them and used image textures on the lace and dress, Something I rarely do. With a lot more time spent it could turn very nicely indeed.

Thread: Anyone familiar with the Manuel Bastioni LAB plugin for Blender? | Forum: Blender
LOL not something I have to worry about my youngest is like 16 (freedom is close at hand). There a few rest poses but havn't looked at the others and not sure what they are.

No Worries Miss B The T pose is not how the model comes out but with a click it is set to it
The black modesty bands are easily removed with the removal of a texture. There a lot of options to play with. The older versions were a bit poser like, this one is slightly different but easier to work with I think.

Manuel Bastoni plug in works very nicely in 2.79. Have used it several times has a lot of pose and expression controls plus all the presets.

Thread: different material on different face | Forum: Blender
The Only reason I stick it in is because when I first came across this, It was there and still just follow that theme albeit it was from a pre 2.7 version of blender and it may have been different back then.

I forgot to mention earlier but the third diffuse after the mix rgb is not required And if used my upset metallic textures etc.

Its not just the diffuse you can apply image maps and node setups. Basically just think of the geometry and final mix to be able to back and front any set of nodes against each other and then apply after that what ever you need to effect both sides combined.
