Thanks for the explanation. Yup, that helps explain a lot.
Er. My count on paragraphs (counting blank lines also) was 27 paragraphs.
Thanks guys. Yup, definitely solved. LOL

Thread: Character Limits in Comments Section??? | Forum: Community Center
Okay... I've gone through and tested this by adding literally ONE letter at a time and hitting 'save' on the edit function. We do NOT have the allotted 4096 characters. In fact, the moment it reaches '56 characters left'....it begins returning the error of being over the limit.
If it says you have 57 left, it will go through fine. But once you hit 56, it begins returning the error about being over limit, despite apparently having 56 characters left before hitting your limit of 4096.
Anyway. I don't understand this. And it's very frustrating for those of us who tend to post bits of the storyline that the artwork is immediately derived from. But you maybe might want to fix that line to read "max 4039 characters" and not "max 4096"... because we obviously do not have 4096 characters to use in our comments section.

Quote - I never have that problem ... but it takes me 1-2 months to get a freebie ready ... lol
LOL! That's fine with me! Your freebies are worth waiting for! :D
I' ma binge creator mostly. I'll go 4-6 months without making a single one and then all of a sudden they're coming out of my ears! cheeky grin

Thanks, JS! Let us know what the final decision is? That would just be an IMMENSE help. ^_^
Thread: Need an answer on why do V4 eyes look so strange to me? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - The head is about 10-15% too large from when I messed around with 4, so goes without saying the eyes would be too large also. Pretty much they slapped a babies/preteen head on a somewhat womans body as a base.
Ja, well... don't get me started on the REST of her anatomy. LOL!! I could sit here and pick apart V4/V4.1 from top to bottom and point out a ton of disproportionate areas in the modelling, but is it worth it? Will it accomplish anything? Naaaah...
That's why we love our morphs and scaling dials. =)

While I understand what led to the policy change...
And I can see both the pros and the cons....
Might I make a suggestion?
Perhaps having a 'queue' link somewhere on OUR side, so we (as content/freebie uploaders) can double check to see what we still have in the queue? That would be EXTREMELY handy, and help avoid a LOT of the sheer frustration entailed in 'did I send this into the queue yet? Nothing's come through for two days, do I dare upload, am I gonna have to delete something and then wait another two days for it to go up??)
(Not to mention we could, theoretically by being able to see what items we have in queue, even double check how many ITEMS are sitting in that queue = less items you might have to delete??)
Just my thoughts, for what they are worth. I don't mind having the queue. The part that gets so frustrating for me, is the fact that I am a binge creator. I may go months without making a single freebie, and then all of a sudden I'm pumping them out about once a day, and when I am in a binge, being unable to know what's sitting in your queue from me tends to have me sitting here pulling my hair out and wondering which item i've uploaded and which I have not... which has led to me uploading less frequently here, and simply posting on sites elsewhere or outright sending people to the daz freepozitory links or my site itself to check for updated content.
What I'm talking about is this...
We upload an item. Okay, we get said notice that it's been recieved and we'll be e-mailed when it's approved yada yada. That's cool. But let's say I'm doing a bunch of different pose sets (like I have been lately), some are for M3, some for D3, some for V3, A3. Now I go to my freebies, and there's a nice little link at the top. "Your Queue."
Click that and get the following :
Items currently in testing :
That ALONE... would help make the queue and approval method here a hundred percent more bearable on some of us who have screws loose and tended to keep track of what we were putting up in the past as much by 'just added this to my site, now get it up in freestuff' as we do with 'check freestuff..right .last item i put up was...'
Only now, I can't DO that. I can't go to my freestuff and go 'last item i put up was...' cause more often than not I've got something in queue and i'm afraid to upload at ALL for sake of sending a duplicate through! LOL
Sorry for the length of my post. I'm just trying to pose a potential idea that might.. maybe... help both the content providers as well as the two of you who are doing all the freebie approval. :)

Thread: Need an answer on why do V4 eyes look so strange to me? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - I just grabbed images from a number of artists.. I didn;t even look to see who did them, I was just looking for V4 images where the eyes looks good to me.
The bottom three images do look fairly realistic as far as the eyes. But images 1, 2, and 3 are definitely too big in the eyes to me. ^_^ All of it very nicely rendered (I do like the Marilyn Monroe look-alike there), but the bottom three images, IMO, do the most for showing a proper proportion between V4's face and eyes.
Thread: Need an answer on why do V4 eyes look so strange to me? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
They are too large, that is the problem. In the default (non-dialed/morphed) state, V4's eyes are disproportionately large in comparison to the rest of her body. This is an anatomical mistake, ie, the modeller who created her probably needed to reference some more photos or something of people and get a better notion of the correct anatomical proportions for a female human. Her hands and feet are also too large for her body as well.
I know anatomy. It's one subject I know by heart. I'm a nurse offline. LOL :)
For what it's worth, LMK, I do believe the eyes can be morphed to be smaller in the head than they are. I would have to double check that, though. I have V4.1 but have only rarely used her due to the sheer amount of lag and resources just having her in the scene causes. It's not worth it to me to fight with lag and blocky camera movements and crashing renders just to have the 'latest greatest newest figure' in my renders. LOL
Anyway - that, I believe, is what hte problem is with the figure. Her eyes, hands, and feet are too large. Hands and feet are easily morphed smaller, but I would have to double check to see if V4's eyes can be made smaller.

Thread: V4 packaging questions... again | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - You can use my MorphFromObjP6 script www.svdlinden.nl/webposerstuff/downloads/MorphFromObjP6.zip
Â
Question - using this with V4.1 ? Do I need to save the entire character out as a .obj file to do this? I've never worked with scripts before, period, ever, in Poser, so I have zero clue here what's needed.

Gak, i'm sorry! I did scan the thread list before I posted, and didn't see anything on it or I would have tagged it onto one of the others. My apologies. : )
Thread: Packaging V4 Morphs? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Alright.. I'm lost then. chuckles
When I make the Mil3 morph sets, I use IPB. IPB, however, does not have a V4 library. Ja, I am working with V4.1, not the first V4.
I also don't know where to find the library? How do I save it and get it into IPB to make the morphs?

Quote - Magnets? Yikes! They scare me! I've never had much luck using magnets. They're so doggone tricky to use. You may be onto something though, if I can summon up the patience to give 'em a try. I'm still scared of 'em though...
Hello. :) I promise they're not as scary as they seem! I felt the same way the first few times I had to use them, but I more or less have to use them on nearly every render now, as most of my figures are dial-morphed and don't fit inside the clothing without them. ^_^
Would a tutorial of some kind help? I can try to work up a step-by-step or find you a link to an easily understood one, whichever happens first. They ARE very tedious to work with, but mostly it's just a matter of turning the x/y/z translate, rotate etc dials to get what you want with them. The biggest thing to remember is to have the body part you want the magnet to affect selected before adding the magnet to the scene.
I just don't know of any pre-existing clothing item like you're looking for. Another possibility might be to load up the daz m3 tunic and play with the scaling dials a bit. I doubt it will sit on the figure with all the loose folds and such since it's a conforming item and not dynamic.. but it might be worth a try? ~ Seliah
Thread: Have you ever posted a negative comment? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't post negative comments. What I will do, if I see something to comment on about the image is very gently give a "This looks a little bit off, here's one possible way to correct it or improve it" type of comment, but I too always end on a positive note with my comments.
I never just post "I don't like this" and if it's a new user to the programme, I try to encourage them, rather than just go 'this sucks!' because new users are so very sensitive to what they're doing. They come into this and they know they're wading in the big pond with all the big fish that have been there for years and they can sometimes be very quick to get a hand-slap and run to another pond somewhere else.
That said... I don't even post a whole lot of 'fix this, tweak that' type of comments to begin with. Only rarely do I make a comment like that. And of the few times I have done so, most of the times it's been met with dignity, though there was one very recent time that the artist decided to get snarky and left a snarky comment in 'retaliation' on one of my images after doing so. I just let that sort of thing ride.
If you're posting in the galleries, yes, expect some negativity, I'd say. What you like, or you prefer, isn't neccessarily what others do, and if you don't have a thick skin and aren't able to take critique or comments, you shouldn't be enabling comments on your images anyway. IMO, for what it's worth, there you go. LOL
