I tried stretching the wndow out for vue onto my second monitor, but I end up with a full screen preview.. a BIT more then I'd like.
Select the 'Render to screen option', then save your scene. Vue 6 will remember the render settings with the scene.
also do you have to memorize current display setup to enable saving the changes?
I don't understand this question. I'm stuck on "memorize".
e-onsoftware tech support has told me that Vue 6 doesn't fully support duel monitors. As you may know, stretching the window works okay with a few short-comings.
As for tips, I like fitting the Vue 6 preview windows to the gap between monitor displays. The previews are adjustable in size – you can stretch them. I've also enlarged the World Browser window. This is useful when working with groups of objects and when using longer object names. Lastly , when painting an ecosystem, it's great to have the top-down preview window open and stretched across both monitors.

Has anyone tried to use the postwork options on shadows? If so does it work well? This is when a person enables the G-buffer / Multi-Pass buffer.
It could save a lot of time, using with the rendered PSD shadow layer and Photoshop to create soft and grain-free shadows.
Anybody want me to test the G-Buffer option? This would be a first for me.

In the Atmosphere editor, the slider is set to 100% sunlight. The light color is white and the ambient color is black. This scene is one of my oldest scenes dating back to Vue 4.
In my last post I have set the Advanced effect quality to 100% and the Quality threshold to 100%.

I have the texture anti-aliasing turned-off and have set the object anti-aliasing to:
min: 12 sub-rays and max: 36.
Upping the maximum sub-rays improved the quality of the render. I tried 12, 24, and 48 max sub-rays. With 12 max sub-rays, the quality of the render was equal to the Superior render mode. With 24 max sub-rays, the quality was better, but still grainy. With 48 sub-rays the quality was equal to 36 sub-rays. So I believe the sweet spot for maximum sub-rays is: > 24 and <= 36 (at least, for soft-shadows).
An interesting note, the Vue 5 renders for 36 and 48 sub-rays were only one second apart. While the Vue 6 renders for 48 sub-rays took an extra minute over the 36.
Lastly, in Vue 6, I set the object Anti-aliasing Strategy to 'Soft'. This is a new control and is found in the ' Anti-aliasing Options' dialogs (Render Options dialog / Anti-aliasing group / Edit button). I believe that's why the Vue 6 render took longer, but finished better than the Vue 5.

You can adjust the material and texture map preview size in the world browser. There's a new control at the bottom of its window. I find no way to change the preview sizes in the material or scene browsers (dialogs).

If you have Vue 5i or Vue 6i, you can render the other views by clicking on the camera icons located on each view's title bar.

You're using vue6i right? Then I'm going to assume that you're referring to the 'Post-Render Options' dialog. There's an option in this dialog to 'show' itself. Perhaps, you've turned the dialog off. You can show the dialog via the Render menu.

Solid-growth vines are a Vue 7 wish item for me. I would love to be able to grow vines from the plant editor. It's a dream. While I'm dreaming, the vines could be made to conform to another object. :)

Attached Link: the e-on tech support page with my bug report
I am able to use Vue 6i on both of my monitors. I am running Windows xp home (32bit). In order for me to create a Vue 6 window that spans both screens, I have to stretch Vue 6's main window by dragging the window handle from the bottom right-hand corner. There are a couple of issues that I've already reported to e-on software: On occasion, the tool tips and mouse pointer both map incorrectly. I believe both of these problems are easily fixable.
I suggested to e-on's tech support that they create a control for maximizing the window to both screens. I suggested right-clicking the window's maximize button. If other Vue 6 users were to also request this feature, then I bet they would get right on it.

Firefly is now multi-threaded. Poser 7 can create up to four processes during rendering.
