Ah yes indeed Dr Greep,
they key fact i overlooked was that your step 4 is possible... because after creating 2 props in the group editor, i will find them in the heiarchy list when it comes time to choose what to export with FILE - EXPORT......as wavefront.obj
It is that method for changing props to .objs that i keep fogetting!
Sorry I am still newbie , but learning fast, I think
And I think i will most likely choose ploygons in a "racoon mask" shape that just includes the eyes for the first prop. For the second prop, of course I will choose the exact converse polygons of the head.
Thanks again, as always.

Oh I see. Essentially, this is a method to add a "ghost" figure to the scene, which provides guides so you can match your "real figures" hands and feet to it after you have moved your "real figure", then of course you can hide the "ghost" for rendering time.
I will tell you what this is way better than: clicking back to previous key frame a zillion times and trying to memorize with your eye where the feet or hand has to be to appear in the same position for the nex key frame!

Thread: lock body parts of 2 figures | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I just searched some more and found an answer from ockham on a diferent thread:
"The most promising trick would be to use a dummy prop like a Ball.
Put the Ball where the hands join. Start the scene with IK on for the
joining hand of each figure, probably off for all other limbs. Parent
the two joining hands to the Ball, and then do most of the movement
with the Ball. Of course you'll have to adjust the rest of both figures
at the same time....
As the grip breaks and the 'victim' moves away and down, you can move
the two figures apart by increasing the Trans parameters of the
victim's hand. This is sort of counter-intuitive, because you're separating
the hand from the ....."
It looks like a good method.
I find it amazing that the simple function of parenting body part to body part has not been worked out and provided in Poser....I mean, isn't it quite often that people need to animate 2 figures who are affecting eachothers body parts?

"4) Edit>Duplicate 'Figure 1' "
the Figure 1...is that command going to refer back to the saved pose of step 1, or the saved scene of step 2 ??

Thread: floating V4 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've seen that Acadia that is at load up. For some reason she comes from DAZ with ballerina toes throught he floor, even when she is truly zeroed.
Thats's simple to fix, but once you start working with her , like for instance if you rotate her whole body on X to get her to lay on her back, she will be laying on her back, but about 2-3 feet of the ground, so logically now you should be able to click DROP TO FLOOR an get her on the ground....but instead she drops to a point where she is hovering a few inches off the floor. it's weird. any position you pose her in, if she leaves the floor, you ain't gettin her back with DTF, you will have do little manual adjustments with the help of an "up through the floor view" to get her perfect.

Thread: P5 Conform Clothing Doesn't Completely Cover Figures. Help! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The only thing I can think of, if it is not a faulty piece of clothing, is that the conform to drop down sources the library (rather than the scene) in order to supply my conform to choices.....and maybe I have V4 or her clothes in the wrong part of the directory.
This is a dumb uneducated guess and i bet that's not it.

anyone know why when i place a piece of clothing designed for V4 onto the V4 figure, it jumps right onto her nicely, but then when i have theclothing item selected, and go to Figure - Conform To......
my dropdown choices only say "none" I do not see V4 in the choices.

Thanks everyone - and thanks DG I like your tuts
maybe what i saw on some doors that i have used was not a morph dial, perhaps i missed the fact it was just an axis rotate dial ( where the axis had been migrated)
oops.

Thread: GOD HELP ME I HATE this FILE DIRECTORY!!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks everybody
I am much calmer now.
Thanks for the good link, raven.
What is very thoughtful of most suppliers, and what i found confusing, is when different file formats are supplied for the same item in one zip folder. I guess this is so you can choose your method for employing the content.... I like pakled's idea of having one dump zone for "all things downloaded", then fishing thru for the particualr file format of the item you want, and then placing it in the proper related library area of Poser.
Thanks

Thread: using V4.2 in Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yeah that totally makes sense. the cool thing is i can save a few different vicky figures with different sets of morph dials loaded, so that I am not always working with a vicky with a parameter dials window that is a mile long!
BTW i noticed that way up in the heiarchy when i have chosen the part "body" there is a dial called "base" ( at least I think that is what it said, I am not on my P7 machine now, but the point is this dial seemed to be like an overall magnitude setting for all of the morph dials)
anyhow this dial does not respond to clicking and pulling well, and does not respond to direct entering of numbers.....are you familiar with this dial being a problem?
I want the individual morph dials for Vicky to have a greater magnitude of effect and I think what I am describing might be my problem
Thanks for your reply
