Use Eudora Mail. It stopped the Kak Worm dead in it's tracks just this past week, after it was tranmsferred to my inbox from a relative who uses Outlook.

Hi again, I just realized my first version was the one I uploaded and is missing some of the MT's I mentioned above. I just fixed that and uploaded the new version. Sorry about that. :) Cheers, Mike

Jeff, I got it from 3D Cafe, and I'm pretty sure it was made in 3D Studio Max, but I can't really remember. I do know there are ALOT of Max files there, though. Mike

I read that Microsoft never issues virus alerts and when someone claims they have it's a sure sign of a hoax. Mike

Lookin' good, Hein. That's on huge pumpkin there. Glad to hear you got it all straightened out. :) Cheers, Mike

Thanks for all the advice here. I got it to where I want it now, too. I did as Jeff suggested and after a bit of experimenting it worked out, and also served to remind me about the usefulness of the grouping tool. That sword was also in need of some new material sections. Bloodsong, yeah, what you said. I needed to get the rotation nearer to the handle, which I finally managed. Funny it didn't start out that way, but who knows. I guess if it was made in a different app, Poser doesn't necessarily "agree" with the setups? Thanks, Mike

Doran, That's what this place is all about. I'm glad to hear it worked for you. Nice pics, too. :) Cheers, Mike

Cool, Jeff, thanks... I'll give it a try right now. Yeah, ever since I "discovered" the parameter dials, I rarely use the other controls, unless I'm using Inverse Kinematics. Half the time I actually type in numbers, though, which is a very good way to lern the limits. Thanks! Mike
Thread: Creating A Poser Ocean With Poser's "Create Wave" Deformer... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think that was "16 Tons" by, umm... Tennessee Ernie Ford (?) Anyway, above I made a comment about the Wave deformer, and I swear I didn't read this message first! NOW I see it's purpose! Great idea, and great picture, too-- thanks! Cheers, Mike

Yeah, I agree-- the magnets are the way to go. They're simple and easy to use, and only frustrating at first. Now, that ridiculous Wave Thing is a different story altogether. ;) Mike

SMT, My "Final to Screen" rendering ended up taking 20 min., 19 sec. I didn't try to do the final to diskl, though, but I have to assume it would have been even less time. Ultra to Scree was 2 hr, 24 min, but I had my Eudora mail open the whole time,as well as Mc Affee and Zone Alarm running. I don't know if that should make a difference or not in rendering speed? Windows 98 SE, Athlon 600 mhz K7, 128 MB RAM, on a Compaq (yes, I know you hate Compaq, but I like it), with the Voodoo 3 graphics card. Far as SDRAM goes, I have no idea, and I don't know how to find out! Cheers, Mike PS I'll try the Ultra again with no other programs running, later.

Smallspace, Ok, I'm game. I'll give it a try later when I have to be away from my PC, with one of the options, and I'll try to fit in another one of the tests when I go to bed tonight-- let the ol' PC "do it's thing", ya know. WHAT?!? You ONLY have the 1 GHZ? I thought everyone had upgraded to the 2GHZ Athlon by now- I did, and I can't believe it's speed.... 'scuse me, I'm dreaming out loud again. ;) 600 MHZ Athlon here on Windows 98 SE I'll let you know the results no later than tomorrow morning. It sounds like an interesting test, and I hope I won't be the only one to try it. Cheers, Mike

I've been using simply Microsoft Photo Editor, which is a component of Microsoft Office (I think-- I really don't understand the relationship), and is on the Word 2000 CD. As far as simple editing goes; resizing, converting, etc., it's never let me down, but it's not very useful as a means for touching up. I use Painter 6 for that, always saving everything as .bmp and then using Photo Editor to convert to .jpg. Microsoft Paint might be a viable alternative after you finish up in Adobe. Give it a try! Cheers, Mike
