Sacred, I just tried to import my file again, and still it didn't work, so I rebooted and that seems to have done the trick. Go figure. My next step was to reinstall Vue, but I guess I won't be doing that now. I've not had any problems with 3Ds so far, except for the occasional error message that it's an "invalid format", but Vue has opened them anyway. I DO know though that there are many different versions of the DXF format, and Vue has a problem with some of them. Try converting your Aztec city model into 3ds or obj with another program, and see what happens. Sometimes that helps. Cheers, Mike

Hiya, LucyFur, Yes, the wings are poseable. They work VERY well, and I have not once regretted getting them. :) I know about the wings you mention here-- I have them too, but I think Jeff's are much more suited towards angel wings. Cheers, Mike Thanks for the pics. :)

Steve, Thank you for making such a great thing available to us. Being a regular Amorphium user, I don't know WHAT I'd do were it not for UV Mapper! Cheers, Mike

Jeff, Ok, I'll try that. I have Painter 6, which is pretty good for that sort of thing. Anyway, I just came up with a texture I like alot more anyway, because it "fits" better, and I prefer the colors. No problem about the MT's... I only have a couple anyway, and they're pretty subtle. I'm working on making some more, and I will send them to you to see what you think. Thanks again, Mike

Thanks Jeff! Yeah, I already knew that, though, and don't worry about it, 'cause it isn't gonna happen. :) I've had a few compliments from people on the wings, and people almost always ask where did I get them from? Maybe you ought to advertise them some more! Anyway, without the wings, the armour, jewelry, and sword, she's nuthin'! So, I'm probably just going to keep her for myself for now, but post some MT's and the hair which is more or less a custom job, and some faces, too, until I finish modelling my own props. You should ssee the wings I've made--- they SUCK! So you don't have any competition here. LOL! Cheers, Mike PS Do you have any tips on how I might be able to get that fractal texture I made to "fit" better? I've been trying new UV Maps, but I keep going back to the original, because I can't outdo it. Also, would it be acceptable for me to post some MT's for the wings?

Jen, Here's the link for the wings: http://members.bellatlantic.net/~howarths/ They really are great, and if you get them, you won't be disappointed. :) I wish I could remember where I got the jewelry from, though. Cheers, Mike

Thanks, Jen! I'll check out the link. :) I was planning on making the girl available, but without special permission, I couldn't let the other stuff go. The sword is the "Wallace's Sword" from 3D Cafe, and the chain mail armour is from Nerd, available here in the Free Stuuff, if he didn't pull it, but I don't think he did. I can't remember where I got the jewelry from. And as for the wings, I bought them from Jeffrey Howarth, and obviously I can't include them. But I agree, the wings are FANTASTIC and well worth the price! :) But at least I can give out the character's cr2 file, as well as the hair. The girl has a lot of MT's which I made myself, and she'll come with some faces and poses, too, if the file isn't too large...maybe later today, for that matter. :) Thanks again! Mike

...witch, goblin, Trick (and/or) Treat, popcorn_ball, Bryce (again, LOL), gimmee_gimmee, black_cats, WalMart, boo... :) Cheers and Happy Halloween! Mike
Thread: Editing Vickie | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks, Picnic, I finally figured out how to do the eyeballs in Bryce without editing the .obj file. :) Visualkinetics, The hierarchy for Victoria only has Right Eye and Left Eye, and they are both made up of Eyeball, Pupil, Iris, and Eyewhite, so if I don't export them, I would lose it all, and all I want to get rid of is the sphere known as "eyeball" which wraps around the rest of the eye. I'm assuming this without checking, but it seems as though I've already tried that and failed. But still, I'd LOVE to know if it's possible to edit the "eyeball" out. All of a sudden I'm wondering if the "eyeball" is more of a material and less of a .obj? Hell if I know-- I'm baffled! Thank you both. :) Cheers, mike

It also doesn't like the following words: cherries (singular, "cherry" is OK), flotsam, jetsam (of course), gobbledeegook, Chicken_Soup, merde,Bryce (LOL), anything having to do with law, i.e, lawyer, attorney, TrumpedUpLawsuit, etc..., and deoxyribinucleic_acid. These are the ones I've found so far.... ...and if ya believe THAT..... ;) Cheers, Mike
Thread: Your opinion on Vue Chat? | Forum: Vue
Hi Michael, I meant to come to the chat this past Saturday, but I forgot all about it :( I remembered the night before, but by Saturday morning after I got into things, it slipped my mind, and I HAD wanted to be there. So, if the other people who come here, as well as Bloodsong, don't mind, how about posting a reminder about two hours before it starts, along with the URL, of course. Not just for me, but for anyone else who might be interested. :) Cheers, Mike
Thread: Poser Export OBJ to View Strange Tip | Forum: Vue
I just tried it with a bunch of things, and it's true. It seems as though anything with "fang" in the name causes Vue to not recognize it as a valid geometry, or maybe just not "see" it at all. Maybe as a child, Vue had a bad experience with fangs, and is now blocking it all out? Anyway, this is kinda weird. Has anyone told E-on, becasue I bet this is exactly the type of stuff they would like to hear about. Cheers, Mike
Thread: ok...this may be silly..but...where can i find the following items? | Forum: Vue
No problem, Sacred! The Poser forum in Renderosity is one of the best places to learn, but your posts can get buried there pretty easily if no one answers right away, since they have so much going on. I'd also like to mention that Poser characters import into Vue excellently! Sometimes in Bryce I'll see little dark triangles on a Poaer figure that's been heavily morphed, but I haven't yet see Vue do it to them. :) Cheers, Mike
Thread: New Identity for us Vue-ers | Forum: Vue
not a problem... it was kind of bugging me looking over there and only seeing "Vue", because I wondered how many people know what Vue is without the d'Esprit, know what I mean? It was like maybe 15 minutes after I wrote the message to rcook before he had changed it--- they're pretty responsive and easy to deal with around here. :) Cheers, Mike
