The Cosmic rays hitting the Earth at this very moment have higher energies than the LHC, so the collisions have already been taking place for billions of years.
All that changed now is we get to see them and measure them!

Of course it will, that's the point of it.
Theories are used to make predictions and those predictions are tested. The theory remains valid until evidence shows that it is not, then a new theory is used to make predictions and these are tested in turn.
An exciting day indeed !!!

I have a low untidyness threshold, easily solved by frequent visits to the charity shop and eBay.
Thread: OT: What does the Renderosity Newsletter and Frontpage say about our hobby? | Forum: Vue
Quote - No, it's not you. It's just a reflection of the fact that Renderosity has become a 98% Poser marketplace/forum site over the last two or three years.
Which begs the question, where did the other artists go to?

And sure the News letter has Thumbs in it for products sold on RO...
But whitout thumbs or products you whould not have the place to post this message
Yes, quite true. I think what exercises me more is the difference say between the wall to wall bikinis and lingerie that is the Renderosity newsletter, and the ones from Cornucopia which tells a completely different story about what the hobby is about.
Must be an age thing, I dunno :-(

Ah ha,
All these years, I assumed the 'day' was calculated around the time of submission, giving each picture its own unique daily calculation.
I think that explains what I saw, thanks Karen.

Yes certainly, and I was expecting the reset to zero sometime in early evening (British Summer Time) when the picture was posted, but not to see a fall in daily views over a couple of hours during the morning. If the daily total has now reset this evening, I can't account for the fact that the total views has moved from 133 to 138, but the current day total is 20 (21:08 BST), as compared to 23 (10:00 BST).
The daily totals straddle the time, 48 hours ago when the picture was uploaded, so for the daily to reset from 23 to 20, it presumably means another 20 unique views took place, but the total views moved from 133 to 138 (hope this makes sense).
After uploading images for some seven years, you get a feel for how the numbers behave, and I'm sure something odd is happening !!
I've only had a handful of notifications of comments too, certainly not the number that actually commented, so there's still an issue there, although I can't imagine the two issues could be related.
Of course, it could just be that I uploaded a particularly unsuccessful picture!

I assume you've turned off Open GL and tried running in safe mode to see if that helps?
I seem to remember there was a hoopla about OpenGL support in Vista, something about layering it over DirectX.
Related, you might want to check for updated video drivers. I always go for the WHQL certified drivers where ever possible.

Thanks for the hint on the decay option. Of course it was right there in front of me and I didn't realise its significance. Had to play around with the settings but I now have what I was after.

I am another SF fan too.
What I would say though, is I prefer buildings that have a certain 're-use' factor, which is to say, that are not so distinctive that you can only use them once or twice and that's it. Although I love the Stonemason stuff, there's only so many times you can use The Walled City or The Backstreets.
I wonder if I asking for some kind of kitbash construction kit, so that you can have your Bradbury Building in one scene, and then give it the Blade Runner treatment for the next. Perhaps you might create some 'street furniture' to go with them, parking signs, road blocks, neon signs.

Not a patch on Wabe's setup though, his looks like a room from one of those hip Scandinavian style catalogues.
The PC is under the left hand screen, the Mac Mini hides under the drawer unit on the right, and those are Bose Companion speakers, great for movies. Sidewinder joystick for Flight Simulator, and somewhere in there is a Wacom A6 tablet.
Midfield, two Kensington Pro trackballs, expensive but excellent.
Appropriately perhaps, the poster on the wall is from "Grace Under Pressure", the 1984 RUSH album.

Just got a forum notification, so here's hoping it's been resolved.
Thread: Gallery ebots.... | Forum: Community Center
I've not had comment notifications for a few days, plus no notifications of favourite artists posting either.
I checked my profile and it was set to 'yes' as expected.
I get other mail as normal from other sources so I know my email is working.

Thread: Vue InteriorPak preview | Forum: Vue
The results look very impressive indeed, my attempts at interior scenes have always looked terrible.
Without giving away any trade secrets, does this rely on special materials or can we apply the InteriorPak to an existing scene and see the results simply by fixing the lighting?
