Excellent. I'm glad for the male textures... the poor Dork has been neglected in compasrison to the wealth of stuff for Posette.

Blossom Fairy? Is this the blue one from the homestead site which most of us can't access? (I apologize for forgetting the name of the creator.) If so, will you host the Winter Fairy and Jack as well? Carolly

Ballerinas, marathon runners, ice skaters have to be far more muscular in the legs than regular folks, so I'm glad to see a character who can be used in an activity. :)

Hi, I think Greylight had some WW2 stuff (I'm pretty sure that's where I got the General)... and a link to where other military stuff can be found. Baument's freebie this week is a sandbagged corner (suitable for machine guns) but might be a useful background prop to protect your character. Carolly

If you check Ghastley's site you can find the 18th century suit. He also has golf "plus fours" which might be morphed to make the pantaloons. (They gather below the knee, but should be shortenable?) http://209.92.41.204/Poser/ Also, Traveler over at BBay.com just came out with a complete ensemble for a roughly 14-15th c Squire: hose, shoes & boots, tunic, hat. The tunic top is about right for what you need (would require a transmap to shorten enough, and a different texture map), and the hat is similar to something Henry VIII wore. Poser World had a "pirate's outfit" which had a couple elements you could use, but they are being reworked as a site. The odd thing is that there exists some pieces of armor which have almost the right silhouette for the doublet (I'm thinking of the waist flare), but they might need to be scaled down a bit. Search for male armor and see if there is something useful. Happy hunting! Carolly

Does she need hair bad, or does she need bad hair? I suspect that demons enjoy a bad hair day. Carolly

If she is waiting for the portcullis to lift, perhaps there could be a hint (dread or anticipation) of what might be on the other side? A very large monster's foot, for example, would lead the viewer into the implied story and create sympathy for her. Fog tendrils (with little glowing eyes?)should be quick to pop in the scene and would add atmosphere. Even a silhouette (of the man she is perhaps shadowing?)would give a bit more depth to the scene. It is interesting, and I like the low lighting and possibilities for further adventure. Carolly
Thread: What is a Poser Pro Pack avatar? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
When I started in the games industry (late 80s) the character representing the player was called "ego" because it was the extension of the player's will. Then came "avatars". (My understanding of mythology is that an avatar is better than human.) I've heard that some companies have graduated to minor divinities. Carolly the Unamused
Thread: BBay Club - What a deal. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I joined a few months back, and it really is a wonderful deal. The objects vary in complexity, and sometimes they outdo themselves. (This is similar to DAZ where the freebie can be anything from a candy box to a camel.) Before the goblin (which I don't have yet, because the site was too busy), they had a couple of medieval gowns and textures. Morphing Man keeps an eye out for the various contests and tries to make helpful props, anticipating our needs. They take requests, too! I don't mind not knowing in advance what the item will be like, because every Monday is Christmas. Anyway, the Goblin with all his morphs alone is worth the $15... and when you join, you get a welcome gift. :) Carolly
Thread: "Bluebelle" Spring Faerie Character now available | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I can't get the Fairy. I can't even get Jack, who shouldn't have much traffic right now (I aasume that folks in snow country aren't dowloading frost fairies this week?) I'm using a Mac and Netscape, and I'm in California. I also come in late at night, when traffic ought to be thin. No luck. I was really hoping to get Jack and those nifty wings. Thank you for sharing with us. Carolly
Thread: down on bended knee...problem | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
That hand is too small.. they are roughly the size of the face. He does have a cute face, though! Once you get the knees to obey the limit, he'll be a great change from the standard dork... and we've long needed more men. Carolly

Carolyn, Poser really needs a lot of memory to work well, especially if you add lots of textures or have a complicated scene with several props or people. I'm giving it 200 Megs (of the 384 on this system)... on the advice of Zygote/DAZ... and the program has run pretty happily since. Please check to see how much memory you have on your computer, and allocate to Poser more than the "suggested" amount if you can. (One and a half times that is recommended for many programs.) (This is easy on the Mac, I'm not sure how you do it on a PC.) Also, try not to have other memory hogs (such as PhotoShop) running at the same time. Hope this helps! Carolly
Thread: Question concerning DAZ brokering... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hmm... ok, if you have a model such as hair or dress with reversed normals, how do you fix it so that Poser will read it correctly? Carolly
