Checked resent posts on the Eon forum and a couple of people said that they copy their entire Vue 9 library into the Vue 10 library and tell it not to overwrite. That way all their content is in one library.  That would be the ideal, but I want to be sure this won't cause problems. Has anyone here tried that?

Mari-Anne, thanks for the advice. If I understand you correctly, you have your three libraries set up basically like Poser runtimes.  How do I set it up so that Vue 10 will access my Vue 9 library?  I only know how to add individual collections, not the entire library.

Hate that you are dropping the Vue models, but thanks for letting us know about the deals.

I'm keep that in mind. Would love to use Collada directly from 3D Warehouse if the entrie model would just load properly.

I have tried various things and still cannot get the full airlplane model to upload in Vue. I even tried opening the .dae in Blender and converting it to 3ds there. It still loses parts.

I just found a free website yesterday that will do a conversion. I have only had time to try it on one model, but it worked. Babel 3D lets you upload a Sketchup .skp and get it converted online to obj/3ds, so you can import and use it in Vue... and it's free. It's of course great when you want some model from Google warehouse and don't have SU Pro.

I didn't see an option to download as a dae, but will check it out. I really know nothing about Sketchup myself. I just click on the download and it opens in Sketchup and from there I select export as dae. I just use Sketchup to convert the file so I can use the model in Vue.

Thanks! I had my doubts, but it worked like a charm. Loaded character from the other runtime and all the morphs including the Elite morphs are now showing.

Update-- Thanks to your help I have the problem partially fixed. I had installed the V4.2 character to Poser 9, but not the morphs. After I installed the morphs and ran the updated the morphs are showing correctly under body. The problem now is that the Elite morphs will still not show when characters are installed from another runtime and I have not been able to install the Elite morphs in Poser 9. When I try to install  into My Documents > Poser 9 Contents where the character is located the installer tells me that i must install into the directory where the Poser.exe is located. That is under the C://Progams(x86)/Smith Micro/Poser 9 directory. Then I get the message that file not found and the installation crashes.  I have verified that the Poser.exe is in that directory. I assume that the problem is that the executable file is in one directory and the V4.2 character is in another directory. Do you think that if I totally removed the V4.2 character and morphs from Poser 9 it would then upload correctly from the other runtime? It's just that then I would lose the weight-mapped V4 character too.

It would be nice if Eon would give price breaks on older versions. Surely they have Vue 10 DVDs left that they had rather sale that throw away.  Same way with modules. Why is a EcoPaint module for Vue 9 not cheaper than one for Vue 11?  You are forced to buy the new version each year before they charge so much for upgrades from older editions.

I ordered Vue 10 Studio upgrade last night for $149. Will add Ecopainter later.  I liked several new features in Vue 10, especially the splines feature for adding roads and streams.  It also advertises fast render times. I was not able to talk to a sales rep with Eon.  Not a very user friendly setup.  I did send an online question to customer service concerning whether you get Vue 11 when it comes out in the next few weeks. That was Friday and and I have not gotten an answer.

One addition. I know that I have V4 and the basic morphs loaded into Poser 9, but I can't recall (I'm not at my home computer) whether I also loaded the Elite and muscle morph packs.  Like I said, I mostly work out of the Poser 7 runtime with V4.2 since that is where I have all my V4 stuff.  Maybe that is the problem. I probably need to load the Elite and Muscle morph packs in Poser 9 and then run the updater.
